Hi All--

There used to be an animal section in the forums, but as it's not here anymore I wanted to tell the kind animal lovers among you that we lost our beloved Lisa today. She was 13 and she had cancer. We had to put her to sleep this morning and we are so so sad.

That's it,
Robyn

Sorry for your loss Robyn. It's got to be tough this time of year, like Sue said.

At least now she won't have to suffer with the cancer anymore..

Oh dear, that is always a tough decision to make, but one that has her best interests at heart.
I am so sorry for your loss.

My heart goes out to you. Words don't cut it. But I believe your beloved dog is still with you in spirit. I KNOW she is. Take care.

I am so sorry you had to go through this ordeal, but I know it was a wise choice. I imagine how painful that must have been but you made with Lisa's best interest at heart. Poor baby, she's ok now, out of all the pain.
Take care Robyn.

Robyn,

Please accept my deepest sympathy. Believe me, I know how you are feeling because back on September 14, 2006, I had to have my little boy put to sleep. He was 18 years old and had cancer.

You did the right thing for Lisa, because you didn’t want her to suffer. Lisa is now at Rainbow Bridge with all the other animals, making friends and having fun. She is healthy and whole again, and best of all she doesn’t have cancer anymore and is no longer in pain.

Of course she misses you. But there will come a day when you two will meet again and she will forever be at your side.

Robyn,

I am truly sorry for your loss. It is especially hard to have a great companion and best friend leave you before the holidays, somehow you tend to feel the loss worse.

Just know that your beloved Lisa is up at Rainbows Bridge, with my Junior. Once our beloved companions go there, they are made whole and complete, with no disease; they run and play all day and all they do is just wait for us, their beloved humans to come...and then they will be with us yet again.

My prayers go out to you, if you ever need or want to talk about your sweet Lisa, feel free to PM me.

I'm very sorry to hear that Robyn. Our dogs are such a huge part of our lives, it's always strange when they aren't around...even if they are just at the boarding kennels and no one has picked them up yet.
At least your Lisa lived to a good age, and I bet she had a great life with you.

My dog at the moment has cancer, so hes on medication just to keep him happy. He's 16 years old so he too has had a good innings.

I know how sad you are Robyn, I had to put our little girl down last month. It was especially hard because she had been missing for two months and when she was found she was in bad shape. We were able to take her home for about a week after a short stay in the hospital. She was again with those who loved her, with food in her belly and a roof over her head. When her health started to regress I knew what had to be done and I KNOW how hard that decision is. You did what was best for Lisa and she is at peace now. Just like Junior above stated, Lisa is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, free of pain and illness.

Bless her little heart and best wishes to your family. ~ Tracey

Thanks SO much to all. I showed my boyfriend your responses and he cried. (He had Lisa ever since she was a puppy, and she was truly "the dog of his life.")

Love,
Robyn

Oh Robyn, I so feel for you, especially at this time of the year. I had to put down my precious Ruby and I dread the day I lose ClaraSue. Like DakotaNorth, Junior, and BurgGurl said, she's waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge. Rainbow Bridge My prayers for you and Lisa.
