I think the title is referring to the place of the big showdown between Harry and Voldemort, where both will die. Ever since I read the prophecy in the fifth, that's been my feeling even though I don't want Harry to go. 'Hallows' could also have something to do with Godric's Hollow, Harry's parents' home.

that's what I thought once I heard the title. Can't wait to read the book, hope it's not too long until it gets published, and I hope Harry doesn't die.

I have to agree I've also had the feeling Harry and Voldemort will both die, after reading the prophecy in book 5

I am feeling that "Deathly Hallows" indicates to Hallowe'en. Something significant always happen at Hallowe'en in the books. It could also be connected with Godric's Hollow too. But my "big theory" about the Deathly Hallows is that is a object. Because the series of books have a pattern. Book one (Philospher's Stone/Socersors Stone (spelling?) ) referred to a Object. Book two referred to a place (Chamber of Secrets) while book three referred to a person (Prisioner of Azkaban). Book four was a object again (Goblet of Fire), Book five was a place (Order of the Phoenix) and Book six referred to a person again (Half-Blood Prince). So book 7, to me, indicates back to a object

I love it the 7th book in the year '07, it's a beautiful thing. I think the deathly hallows has to do with both Godric's Hallow and with the showdown with Voldemort. I think that when Harry makes it there he'll find a horcrux there and destroy it and the book will end there after he has found all the other horcruxes. A fitting ending as that's basically where the book began!

I just assumed that book 7 would answer questions about Harry's past (we still don't know anything about his parents aside from the fact that they were in the original Order) and that the showdown between Harry and Voldemort would take place where it all began, at the Potter house (or what's left of it) in Godric's Hollow.
Up to book 7, Harry has been unnaturally placid and uninquisitive when it comes to his family and his past. There must be some exciting revelations in that area that Rowling wanted to save for the final book.
We may also encounter Sirius Black again. Rowling has hinted that the two-way communicating mirror that Black gave Harry may yet be of some use (seeing as he hasn't touched the thing since he got it).

I assumed it meant the big showdown and am ashamed to say that i hadn't even made the connection with Godric's Hollow, but that would make a lot of sense. I can't wait for it to come out, i shall have a very unproductive day i think, but boy will it be worth it! I also can't believe it is teh last one, but as for who dies?? I don't want to think about it because it would stop me doing absolutly anything else. But there would be a lot of very upset children if Harry was to die...

the pleasure that Harry Potter had brought me over the past few years has been emmence. I have started to re-read the whole series in preperation for the new book. I want it to arrive and then another part of me says "Oh no!" its the last one. I've allways been the same with books not wanting them to end. so I will have to enjoy this last book for what it is an end to a brilliant story. As to what is going to happen, who knows at the moment only JK. so we all will wait with baited breath for the answer. I personally cant wait. sunday

Took me eight hours to read each book over a period of about two or three days. (Granted the first two or three took me about that long but I was still in elementary school). The sad thing on my part is that I've only read them once through and can still remember them pretty good.

Not sure how long it took me to read each of the books. I do tend to be a fast reader though, so it probably didn't take me too long.
