I've just finished a re-read of book six, and I'm having doubts about Snape. Perhaps he's a bad guy after all.
The look of anger and loathing on his face when he's about to kill - or is it that he's angry that he's got to do it because of his unbreakable vow? And his victim saying 'Please, Severus' Does it mean 'Please don't' or does it mean 'Please do it'? I think there's a lot more to come about Malfoy - he might even become on of the good guys.

I agree with you about Draco, I think he's going to turn out to be one of the good guys - did you notice how much he struggled with having to kill Dumbledore? That's not the actions of a villain.

If the 'hallows' part is to do with holiness and sanctity, maybe it refers to love. There's been a lot of references to how powerful and sacred it is in the other books, so maybe 'Deathly Hallows' is about how love can harm as well- I think Snape's going to sacrifice himself for Harry because of his lve for his mother Lily.

Ooh, and the last word isn't 'scar' anymore, JK said so in an interview. Any ideas what it could be?

Don't forget, no spoilers or hints to be given as it just isn't fair.

I finished, I started reading at about 1pm today, and just finished (7.11pm).

I wont give anything away though, but it was well worth shutting myself away for so long.

Enjoy reading.

My sister went out for a beer in Leeds last night and just after midnight wondered into the 'idle hour' bookshop to buy a copy. While she was there she got it signed by Matthew Lewis, the guy who plays Neville Longbottom in the movies... she's well happy

Omg this is torture we went to asda today and my mum brought my sister a copy of the book. Not only do I have to sit there and watch her read it, but she's taking soooooo long to read it! She's been reading for two hours and she's only on chapter 5! And I'm having to give her 5 pounds worth of ice lollies for the privelege! Grrrrrr

I AM STUPID!!! I totally ruined it for myself. Geh!

I won't ruin it for the rest of you, and of course I'm still going to read it when I get my copy. But DAMN! Why would I read spoilers? Once I started reading I couldn't look away. BAHHH!

Regardless, it sounds like it's gonna be an awesome book! Enjoy reading! I will once I get it

Yay! I finished it. And what I had predicted all happened. It was brilliant, and I'm just sad that it's all over now.

To those of you who are still reading it, enjoy! I loved it. Probably my fave out of all seven!

I finished reading it a few hours ago and now I feel sad. In both senses of the word.

'Ear 'ear . But that's what really finishes off a series well, the last book being the best.

Just finished.

Quite surprised really, the recent big books have been over inflated and under-edited, this one was just right. It closed things out nicely, the ending was maybe a bit predictable but the narative was handled so much better than in the last three books. The English was a little flat and there were more typos than you could shake a stick at but all in all very enjoyable*.

*Especially as it only cost me £5, not bad for a book with a RRP 0f £17.99.

I know, what you mean about the price, it's been the cheapest so far yay!

I started reading while my sister was asleep at about 5 this morning, and it was so good! The ending was a little to predictable though, and some bits were written in a complicated way, unless I'm just thick (no comments please!)

It's very good though, and probably is the best of all 7.

The end of an era *sniff*

One post with a spoiler already removed. It wasn't intentional of that I am sure, the person posting probably just didn't think.

PLEASE TAKE GREAT CARE.

I agree. I would say it's the best one, and that's a great way to end the series. Oh, and of course, there's always a few questions, but they can wait. I'm not going to spoil such a fantastic book for others who haven't finished it yet.

All I'll say it was definitely worth the wait. Enjoy it, because you can only read it once for the first time!

Suggestion: Is there any way to maybe have a password-protected forum for people who have read the book? Maybe we can have a major event in the book the password or something? Maybe a name of someone who died in the book? Just until we can discuss it openly?

That wouldn't be easy. We can't password forums or threads. I could create a special group of people who have read the book but then we would have to keep moving people from group to group.

We will shortly be able to have threads with SPOILERS in front but before we can do that the moderators of this forum need to have finished the book in order to moderate without having the book spoilt for them.

I am sure Sara or Tom will soon start a thread, but as I said, they both need to have either finished the book or not wish to read it.

I liked it. I was amazed that quite a few of the rumours were true - not saying which ones It made me wonder if JK Rowling was looking at them and thinking - hey, great idea!

I finished it this evening... would have been earlier except for having to go to work! Bah!

I won't say anything more except that I loved the book. I think it was a wonderful conclusion to the series.

I started it when I got it home at 00.30 and had to sleep around 3.30am, then started again at 10 and finished it about 3.30 - thanks to my wonderful hubby removing the kids all morning
I laughed, cried, shouted abuse at JKR (blush) and cheered wildly throughout - I cannot get over how much better than the last two it is.
Now I've started all over again to savour it slowly.
