Learning the ropes...

Hi. This is my first post in the discussion forums.

My in-laws gave me a copy of Book Three from the Thomas Covenant series of fantasy books for Christmas, but I have never read books one and two.

Should I find books one and two and read them first? Or will book three stand on its own?

I'd love to hear feedback from anybody who has read them.

Thanks!
Eolena

Oh my, this is one of my absolute favourite fantasy series. It actually is two trilogies, and both are amazingly well-written. I envy you the voyage of discovery ahead of you.

Yes, do get books one and two before reading the third one. There will be so much that you won't understand otherwise, and you might not enjoy the book as much because of this.

I second skunkee's recommendation. I have read both series at least twice and they are some of my favorites of all time. Happy reading!
