"Don't Explain" - Billie Holliday
Ethically, I cannot agree with it, but I have to admit it does something for me.

hi all well, how about carmen ("l'amour est un oiseau rebelle" with say teresa berganza), salome (thinking of ljuba welitsch), bruennhilde (well, maybe not her but the music she sings--my favorite will always include kirsten flagstad), shifting over to french cabaret singers, how about edith piaf? portuguese fado (amalia rodriguez); and hillel and aviva for example, dodi li bekharmen ain gedi; for sexy sounds (other than ravel's bolero) in more recent musical history, it is hard to beat barry white's stuff. may you be listening to something like any of the above or preceding musical suggestions while snuggled up in front of a lovely fireplace with suitable additions as desired.

I actually think it's harder to find sexy songs sung by men than by women for some reason, but I know of a few. I find Sting's songs sexy, but cannot pick just one. I'd probably choose a mushier one than a sexy one in any case.
Dan Fogelberg's 'Longer Than' is one of the nicest ones I remember from my callow youth.
However, I think anything Amos Lee sings right now is beautiful...then I saw I could be his mother easily...so that kind of dashed my hopes!
For women's voices, I don't know any men capable of resisting Diana Krall's renditions of old tunes...Temptation comes to mind, or any of the older tunes. I keep thinking, sigh, I've got her range, but not her legs! She's just had twin boys last month with husband Elvis Costello.

I would pick "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye, or "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green.
I was just thinking of both of those. "Me and Mrs. Jones" is pretty hot, too.

Another favourite since high school - Hummingbird by Leon Russell. He wrote it for his soul mate Rita Coolidge. What a romantic, yet raw and powerful song. I've probably heard him sing it in person a dozen times over the years but it still gives me goosebumps.

"Hummingbird" by Leon Russell. What a cool song. I love B.B. King's version of it. I did see Leon Russell once, but he didn't perform it that night.

No,no NO! I have completely changed my mind. I think the sexiest song EVER is "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack. Have you listened to it lately? Wonderful!

I have to say it at the risk of sounding so cliche it's almost painful. Nobody tops Marvin Gaye with "Let's get it on." There is not a song in the world, in my opinion, that is sexier than that one.
Edited: Stu that is the best avatar I've seen in ages!
Edited again because Indie didn't read the whole thread. Van Morrison could sing me his shopping list and I'd need some ice water and cold compress. That man's voice, well, I need some ice water now come to think of it.
