I won't mention any names but someone I know got hooked up with one of those eastern European ladies who hang out online offering to marry men abroad. He ended up buying a flat and she forged the documents saying it belonged to her. The case continues. The motto is to know everything online that looks even slightly too easy to be true always is. What amazes me is with all the publicity people still fall for them all otherwise they'd give up by now.

This is unreal! I've heard of some of these scams before, but I didn't realize it was such a wide spread problem! I've gotten spam emails before, such as "You have won a new computer!" I always delete these without even reading them because I know it's a trick. But these other scams listed here are something new to me!

As an exampe this is my e-mail inbox just for the last 2 days! Nothing seems to stop it wish they'd get fed up! This is without messages I get in Bulk folder!

I think I might respond to one saying how delighted I am to win this money as being unemplyed and disabled I need all the help I can get. NOT giving any personal details of course.

I don't know whether this is some sort of coincidence, but I have never had any of these sort of E-mails until I joined Funtrivia or made payments through Pay-Pal. Could someone be targetting the members of one of these web sites, more likely Pay-Pal, or have I just been unlucky. Over the past few weeks, these so-called prize wins have been increasing in frequency, until now I am getting at least 2 a day. Fortunately, they go straight to my spam mail, but its a pity something can't be done to get them stopped.

A coincidence I'd say. I've been here a while and use PayPal but don't get these e-mails.

I get masses but as an administrator of this site I don't pay for my subscription although I use PayPal for ebay purchases. I am getting more and more of them, normally several each day. They go into my spam folder, or junk mail.

Hey, I've won the Irish lottery 3 times in one day, on two different email addresses!

Whoohoo! I'm feeling lucky, it's off to Vegas for me!

I seem to be be getting a lot more of these lately, both the lottery and business proposition kinds. I've always gotten a share because I have a couple of my addresses out there in many places due to research, game sites, etc. But there seems to have been an explosion of them recently. Maybe they got lucky a few times and started to get greedy.

Five in one day again plus 2 in bulk folder! It's getting out of control!

Wish I could stop them it's so annoying!

The only time I ever received one was here at FT Discussion Forums--May 27. Reported to Sue yesterday.

I receive anywhere from one or two to half a dozen or more - every day - and although I have great spam filters, these scams have been finding their way into my regular e-mail box, bypassing the filter. I get a lot of regular e-mail, but some days the scams outnumber the legit correspondence. It has gotten much worse in the last few weeks and is really getting on my nerves.

If I took all these people up on my good fortune I would have almost as high an income as Bill Gates.

You may be richer than Bill Gates and that would make him change his career. LOL

It`s interesting but I have tried many ways of getting photos from these clowns and for months failed. About 2 weeks ago I succeeded,to a degree anyway, and I was sent a photo.

Would you trust this man?

About a third of the emails I get now have this gentleman's photo attached to them!

Gosh! just my type! Better not show Sue that picture, nudge nudge, she might get over excited.

I have to say that I have never got any emails like this. I've got my fair share of web page pop ups and the like, but never any direct emails. I'd love to play around with them if i did though.

Maybe it's my imagination, but these offers/congratulations letters are becoming more frequent all the time! I'm getting more than six a day now, every day, and those are just the ones that sneak past my spam filter!

Ok, after posting that previous message of mine, I got a spam email -the very first since I've had my current email acount-offering to sell me pills, of all shapes and sizes.

Being the kind of person who couldn't get their nose picked in a raffle, I was surprised to find that in the space of 26 hours, I had won:

850,000 pounds sterling in a BMW lottery in the UK
276,534 (I kid you not) pounds sterling as a runner-up in the UK Powerball
US$15 million as the winner of Powerball over there.

Considering I will occasionally buy a ticket in a lottery or two here in Aus, I don't know why I bother paying for tickets, when clearly in other countries you get the tickets for free!

I also found it amusing that just last week, my work sent an email to all staff reminding them of the rules of internet usage in our company. The last statement read:

"REMEMBER - you have NOT won the lottery in a country that you have a) Never heard of, or b) the "offical" from that country can't spell that country's name correctly." !!!! HA!

PS As a woman, I have absolutely NO need for either Viagra or a penis enlargement.


And for some strange reason, I don't trust offers of free porn.......!
