Post 'other' meat dishes recipes here. Might cover those with mixed meats, dishes which can be made with different meats, or those not fitting well with the other general meat headings.

The Cornish Pasty.(180 degree oven) - a la Ren, so genuine Cornish.

500g beef or lamb diced
1 medium carrot, peeled and diced
3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
1 tablespoon oil
shortcrust pastry
Salt and Pepper(plenty of pepper)
(I sometimes put oxo in and I have put in some frozen peas, not trad.)

Method:

Heat oil in a large pot and fry onions, without colouring.

Add meat and cook until brown, stirring often.

Add carrot and potato, stir through and continue cooking. (keep stirring or it burns.)

(Add peas and) season well with salt and pepper.

(Add oxo and) Stir through to ensure everything is mixed .

When potatoes are cooked, remove from heat and leave to cool.

Preheat the oven to 180°.

Using a plate as a template, cut discs from the pastry sheets.

Spoon filling into the middle of pastry and brush edges of pastry with a little water.

Bring the edges of the pastry up to form a crest across the top of meat filling. Pinch together to form a seal and pressing to form pleats at the same time.

Place onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until pastry is brown.(You can brush top with egg)

Enjoy.

"Bachelors Beef". Need a deep dish suitable for BAKING (bachelors read the bottom of the dish, or call Mom). Ground meat, however much you might eat and be willing to share. Vegetables that you like, moms not looking, ex. zuchinis, red potatoes, carrots, yellow squash, or whatever you like. Line dish with tin foil, (easy cleaning), put in meat and form to a loaf. Make a fist size indention (in the meat, not the wall!), add spices to your liking and/or worchestershire sauce, I like Woody's cooking sauce or Stubbs Bar-B-Que sauce. Set oven temp to 425, same for most frozen pizzas, if this step confuses you, call mom! Add cut up vegetables and bake till meat is browned and vegetables are somewhat soft, usually bake anywhere from 30-45 minutes, keep checking it so you remeber it is Cooking. Great meal to cook for a girl and easy clean up. ASH

Bobs Corned Beef Hash.
This was inspired by a meal I used to eat when in the RAF.

Ingredients:
1 tin of corned beef, very well chilled
1 large onion, chopped
1 400gm tin chopped tomatoes
1 400gm tin baked beans in tomato sauce ( ie Heinz, HP etc)
250gm cooked and diced new potatoes, ie Jersey Royals
Salt
Fresh ground black pepper.

Method

Make sure that the corned beef is WELL chilled.
Slice into small dice
Heat a little oil in a frying pan, and soften the onions, add the diced corned beef, and fry for a few minutes. If liked, add some garlic.
Place the beef and onions in a large saucepan.
Add the tomatoes.
Cook on a very low heat.
Add the cooked potatoes. ( If new pots are out of season you can use tinned ones )
Add the baked beans and stir.
Heat through thoroughly. Add salt to taste, and just before serving add plenty of fresh ground black pepper.

Since we are in the midst of the Holidays, I thought we could share some of our favorite recipes. I see friends posting and 'pinning' on Facebook - how about we share some of those yummies here as well?
