I made this one up the other night, so I guess it is Ren's Pasta Creation 1 small Cauliflower broken into small florets lots of cheesey cheese sauce quick cook lasagne sheets a small can of tuna butter, grated cheese, salt, pepper I cooked the cauliflower briefly in boiling salted water, drained and covered it in cheese sauce and mixed thoroughly. I buttered an oven proof dish and put the oven on to 180. Layered the lasagne sheets, cauli in sauce, lasagne again. scattered some drained tuna.I went on building up layers, pepper and salt too. Grated cheese all over the last layer of lasagne . Baked it till it was brown and the lasagne soft. It was not bad at all and took a very short time to do.

i would like to share my pasta dish with you. it's my own recipe so i don't have a name for it. it's very quick and easy to make as well.
1 onion 2 tomatoes 1 packet diced bacon 1 packet mushrooms (250grams) half green pepper/whole one (both work nicely)
chop everything up and fry in a blob of margarine/butter with some salt and mixed herbs and italian herbs. make sure it's all fried nicely.
sauce: about 3 tablespoons of flour, put into jug and add about a litre of milk with some salt and pepper to taste. mix this together ensuring you squish any lumps of flour till smooth.
add sauce mixture to the onion, bacon mixture and stir till thickened. when the sauce is cooked add about 3 cups of grated cheddar cheese. more can be added if you're a cheese nut like me.
serve on spaghetti or the finer type of spaghetti......don't know the name for it.
this is a delicious dish and all my friends just adore this when i make it for them when they visit.
if you have any of the sauce left over, it's nice on toast.

How about that Australian pasta salad recipe that Copago was looking for. It sounded nice and I would like to try it.

Lady1, I think this is the recipe you are referring to. It was me who wanted it - Copago was the one who supplied it. I made it at Christmas and everyone liked it.
Pasta Salad
375 g shell pasta 6 bacon rashers 1 ˝ (375 mL) cups mayonnaise 1/3 cup (90 g) seeded mustard 3/4 cup (180 mL) buttermilk 3 (225g) trimmed celery, thinly sliced 1 large (350 g) red capsicum, chopped finely 1 bunch (15g) fresh chives, chopped finely 2 Tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley finely chopped
1. Cook pasta until just tender.
2. Meanwhile remove and discard rind from bacon then cut into small pieces; cook bacon, stirring, in heated medium pan until brown and crispy; drain.
3. Whisk mayo, mustard and buttermilk in large bowl.
4. Add pasta, vegetables and parsley; mix well
Serves six.
Tip - blend about 2 teaspoons of favourite curry powder with the mayo mix for another flavour variation.

Thanks MotherGoose that is the one I was looking for. Will have to try it. Did you try it with the curry powder variation?

No, I didn't try the curry powder variation. And I have to confess that I cheated and used a bottle of honey mustard salad dressing instead of the mayonnaise, seeded mustard and buttermilk.
Duchey, I made your pasta dish for dinner tonight. My family loved it too.

Another name for capsicum is pepper, as in red and green peppers. This is what they are called in America, anyway.

Bacon calabrese. This is an old one with my own dash of love.
600g of bacon, diced. (I trim most of the fat off) 400g of Calabrese, diced. Whole packet of pasta, I like spirals. 800g tin of whole or chopped roma tomatos. 1tsp of basil. 1tsp of oregano. 1tsp of chilli flakes, or to taste. 2 cups of grated tasty cheese. (I find this better than Parmesan)
Method... In a large frying pan lightly cook the bacon on a medium/high heat and then add the calabrese. Then, when both are fried, Add the basil and oregano. Next start cooking your pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water. do not cook it completly as you will be adding it into the frying pan. Add the tin of roma tomatos to the frying pan and begin to simmer. Add the chilli flakes. Reduce the mix untill it has thickened, You dont want it too watery. When it has reduced add the mostly cooked and strained pasta to the pan and continue to simmer for two minutes.
Serve and add the grated cheese. Serves about six. (or just me)
I hope you will try this one, let me know what you think. Adz.

For anyone who was wondering like Duchy, calabrese is a specific type of salami. Try to use calabrese for this recipe as it has its own special flavor. Some other good quality hot salamis may be ok, but do try to get your hands on the calabrese.

Ok, here is a recipe for a home made pasta sauce (at Jar's request). It isn't very specific sorry, as I don't use a recipe. Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- about 300g diced bacon
- a 400g can of tomato soup ( I use the heinz stuff)
- chopped onions to taste
- Mushrooms to taste
- heaped teaspoon of garlic
- some oregano and basil - Finely chopped
- 2 dessert spoons of brown sugar
- a bit of butter
Method- combine the butter, garlic, oregano, and basil in a large pan, and cook until onions are starting to bown a bit. Stirring the whole time.
- Add the bacon, and keep stirring until the bacon starts to cook
- Add the mushrooms and meat and cook until they are fully cooked.
- Add the brown sugar
- Pour the tomato soup over everything and mix well.
Serve with pasta. If anything is unclear please PM me and I will do my best to clear up what I have said.
