Here is an article on the attributes of those born in the Year of the Pig.I am told it is quite close.
We have a few Pigs here I think.
The Pig
It is a Golden Pig year so it should prove lucky for some. Lets hope.

Not words I would normally say but ... I am a Pig. I'd like to think I follow many of the attributes in your link, Ren.

What is the difference between a standard and a Golden Pig year?

I found it quite funny when a Chinese restaurant opened on my island, and I read that I was a Pig....especially since I am Jewish and won't touch Pig LOL.Thanks for posting this. I came across a yellow topaz necklace last week that I had made some years ago, and couldnt remember why. It wasnt my ancient or modern birthstone, so it must have been because of my Chinese stone. Perhaps I should start wearing it again...it may work! ~Joanie~

Children born when the Year of the Pig coincides with the element of gold, something that happens every 60 years, are said to be blessed.

So it must have been a golden year the year that I was born since I will be sixty this year.

I've read that the year of the Golden pig happens only once every 600 years, not 60. Not that that changes much for Sue, eh?

Ooops, sorry! Yes, you are quite right!
Quote:

What makes this year particularly special is that it is the year of the 'Golden Pig.' Running alongside the 12 year animal cycle is another 10 year animal cycle that consists of the five elements of traditional Chinese philosophy: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. These elements are thought to act as modifiers to the animal's personality. Because fire is red or yellow, and red is considered a lucky color; those born under the year of the Fire Pig are considered twice as lucky. But when further calculations are made using the principles of Ying and Yang, we find ourselves in the year of the Golden Pig which happens once every 600

Well little piggies being a snake (The person born in the year of snake is perhaps the wisest and most enigmatic of all. ) I just cannot get excited at it being year of the pig. Snakes and pigs evidently just don`t get on very well!
