We got this Sweetheart Vine (Philodendron scandens) in the early 1980's. It is the first thing we ever bought with a credit card (not the last, I have to say ). The children were all young ..and we thought we'd never grow any older.

This old plant has never been re-potted or even looked after very well, yet it continues to thrive. I haven't trained it to work its way up either side of the Window frame. It just did it on its own. At the last house, it worked its way completely around an internal archway. This plant has definitely got sentimental value.

A remarkable plant - tough but likeable.

I always thought raccoons were regarded as pests, but Bonnie's pair look cute enough. The wildlife round here tends to be rather shy: a squirrel crossed my path in the park but vanished before I could snap it, so I had to settle for a picture of the park.

My daughter will be proud of me, this is getting me out and about. Today I drove down to Corbiere, the extreme south-west corner of the island. I took a number of photos and love several of them, however, the sun on the water in this one appealed to me.

I think this is a great idea for a thread.

Here's one of the first ever digital photos I took on a frosty winter's day a few years ago. It was taken in a valley in the hills just south of Dublin called Glendalough (The glen of the two lakes), a place my family often spent summer Sunday afternoons.

That's a breathtaking view, Santana. I only hope you haven't been cursed by the spirit of St Kevin - I seem to remember that he didn't approve of women hanging around Glendalough.

This block of flats went up in the 1930s and the design was based on the ocean liners that were so greatly admired then. Marine Court was the last word in luxury when it was built, but I gather that the flats are nothing very special these days.

This photo was taken Jan 7, 2007 of an Elephant having a mud bath. Not something one sees every day so we were rather lucky to arrive at the mud hole just before.

Admit it, Sue, you've been monopolising my webcam again I suspect it was as disgusting here as over your side of the Channel, and cheery ducks are a much better photo-opportunity

I had a lovely Christmas Chez the Jersey Lady. Here is a picture of the many lovely things she got to make it an enjoyable time. Spring daffs

It is very slightly windy out today, force 8 gales so winds up to 60 mph. Batty Lil here wanted some shots of the rough sea and as it was due to be high tide at about 4.30pm I thought I would wait until then to get some shots of the waves crashing behind Corbiere Lighthouse, hopefully with the sun behind. I went for a drive to the beach and had a short walk (ha ha) then popped off to do my supermarket shop prior to finally heading for Corbiere.

It was perfect down there, crashing waves, sun and some cloud, wonderful. Funny thing was I couldn't hear the click of my camera. I did see the green light at times though. I tried and I tried. Then I looked at the camera and found that I had accidently clicked over to video and then ran out of memory! So I have some wobbly footage of Corbiere and the crashing waves.

So today's photo is therefore one of those taken on my windy walk and is the sun on the water (I love sun on water!) in a windy St Ouen's Bay.

I didn't take this one today. It was taken when my fiancee and his daughter visited in January. This is my daughter Rhiannon(right) and his daughter Jenna (left) at a playground. People always find the name of this town funny, so I snapped a pic of both girls posing by the sign.

This is one of the earliest building projects from the days when Hastings began to burst out of its ancient site in the Old Town – Pelham Crescent with the church of St Mary in the Castle, built in the 1820s. Most of the later developments are much less attractive.
