Helen Mirren has won the 'Best Actress' Oscar for her performance of Queen Elizabeth II in 'The Queen'. At her award speech, she graciously paid tribute to the real Queen Elizabeth.
It's quite refreshing that a 61 year old can win such a prestigious award against huge competition. Her performance was so good, there's a rumour that perhaps it was the real Queen Elizabeth, realising a lifetime ambition to play a major movie role!

I haven't seen "The Queen" yet but I certainly can say this: Helen Mirren brings the word and the concept of "class" to a whole different level of touchability and genuineness. She dazzles me every time I'm lucky enough to see her on a stage (which has been, oh, every other day this year ). I like it, too, that she obviously admires the real Queen entirely. Her win was not close to even a partial surprise at the Oscars, but it was indeed a fine moment nonetheless.

The Queen is amazing. Helen Mirren captures everything about our glorious monarch. She's even mastered the way the Queen walks and talks to people.

Dame Helen Mirren deserved the award for Best Actress at the Oscars.

The film's brilliant and everyone should see it at ;east once in their lives. The Queen is so brave and I truly look up to her and admire her.
