He does look a very 'laid back' sort of cat I suppose

When I was furnishing my house last year I was delighted to find the bookshelf on the left in a local antique/secondhand store. I was even happier a few weeks later when my next door neighbour (who hadn't seen the first shelf) asked me if I had a use for the one on the right!

This is yellow jasmine (Carolina Jessamine), a native plant, growing in our backyard.

Anne of Cleves was probably the luckiest of Henry VIII’s wives: she left him with her head still firmly in place and pretty good divorce terms. Among the properties she owned was this house at Lewes in Sussex, though apparently she never lived there. It may have come to her as part of the divorce settlement.

After days of springlike weather this is what it is doing outside right now! Quite a lot of snow is predicted...

Funny, that's exactly what is happening here (in NYC). Yesterday I was walking around in a short-sleeved shirt, and today in a giant winter jacket and mittens. What a mess...
Wish I had brought my camera to show the horrible gridlock I was stuck in... or maybe the annoying busdriver who wouldn't let us off the bus because it wasn't an express stop. I could've walked those 15 blocks faster than that bus!

It may be London, but 7 miles or so from the centre you get the first country lanes, coincidentally at the end of my road. But that one has buildings, this one a couple of miles further out has none on this stretch, on the left are fields actually the end of the urban area and extend indefinitely. This is taken in Mill Hill.

Today it is cold so I think I will stay in the warm, here is another shot from my visit to the garden centre yesterday.

The sun is trying to come out, it is melting a wee bit, but the snow is also still gently falling.

I took this one last night. It's not well-composed or well lit or well anything. I just had a wisdom tooth pulled, so I'm a bit foggy. But,my kitty looked quite happy napping on the back of my couch. So, I snapped a picture. This is Greebo the most spoiled house cat in the universe doing what she does best.

I just wanted to post a note to say how much I am enjoying looking at everyone's photos, especially Tom's pictures of Hastings and everybody's pets.

I am a bit of a technomoron so it might be a little while before you see me posting photos here but I promise I'll try to learn how to do it soon.

It is quite chilly out today, also I was up until about 5am watching the F1 so I am not venturing out today.

I bought myself some roses a few days ago so I took a photo of one this morning.

I love wdwlfa’s pictures of Missouri. This is another bit of Burton’s St Leonards – the Clock House (still a private house, I believe).

How old must this oak tree be? The photo doesn't really show it but trunk looks to be about 6-7 feet in diameter. It sits back from the fence quite a bit:

It snowed all day yesterday, but today is sunny and the sky is blue. The snow's starting to melt again, but you can see that Winston has been having fun running around in it.
