The local Science Museum is having an Egyptian Display.

I know that Spring is right around the corner so I had to take this picture.I wish it had been outside down a country road somewhere but a Garden center will have to do for now.

I get very homesick when I see these anywhere.

Spring right around the corner? We had a very very slight dusting of snow overnight, but it had all melted away by about 8:00 a.m.

This is the tower of St Clement's, the oldest surviving church in Hastings.

This is the St. Clements in the old nursery rhymes, I 'm assuming?
How nice to finally get a look at it, TabbyTom. Thank you.

The nursery rhyme is set in London (it mentions places like Old Bailey and Aldgate), so I think the church in the rhyme is either St Clement Danes in the Strand or St Clement Eastcheap in the City. No one really seems to know which.

A horrid windy day and my garden has been hit. Not much point in putting the bird table up again until the wind drops.

Looks like your bird table needs a 'solid' base Sue. Perhaps bury the leg bases in the ground or encase them in concrete - or even strapping bricks to them might work.
It's really only a case of lowering the centre of gravity!

I feel for you on the wind part, Sue. Looking on the Weather Channel website, your winds are at about 30mph, gusting to over 40mph. Sounds like what I had about a month ago, when my sustained winds were between 45mph and 50mph, with gusts over 60mph at times. Hope it's not dusty as well.

Edit to add: when April rolls around, and the bluebonnets start coming out, I'll have to post a pic of them. Since we had a decently wet winter, they'll be beautiful this year. The last two years' worth weren't all that impressive, as those winters were extremely dry.

There always seems to be a train passing when I come out of my Pilates class, so today I remembered to take my camera. It was raining and dull, but at least not snowing again!

The shopping precinct in our town centre was built on the site of the former cricket ground, so the cricketing tradition is commemorated by this statue of “The Spirit of Cricket” by someone called Allan Sly. The batsman looks to me as if he’s about to fall on to his stumps in a pretty spectacular “hit wicket.” But maybe he’s playing old-fashioned street cricket, and his wicket is the green Corporation litter bin.

Yet another ghastly day so I stayed in the warm. This is a photo I took a few days ago, it is typical of many of our potato fields at present.

The sun is shining today, but it is still quite cold. Here's a shot I just took of the "Melting Snow".

Well, no photos taken today. What to do ...Hmmm, I know! Here's a photo of a bag that used to have eighteen Flying Saucers in it. I just ate them all. I first bought flying saucers as a child and never grew out of them.

Eighteen wasn't enough. There's another packet in the cupboard and it's getting some serious thought!

The 'Why is the sky blue' thread on Lions inspired me to take this photo of Rocky, a handsome male lion at our local zoo 'Paradise Park'.
When he was a cub I held him in my arms, but don't think I'd be able to manage him now

Rocky is certainly a magnificent beast.

Crown House, now a pub/restaurant, was originally designed by James Burton as his own residence when he was developing St Leonards-on-sea.

This is a photo of a typical Jersey farmhouse, most of which have now been converted into luxury homes.

I took this a few years ago but as it was on a real camera I only just got the prints back. It's the A3 at Cobham Surrey, and when they built Sainsbury's as usual they added a roundabout for the new access road. But they also added a fourth exit to a field. The official story is they were going to add an extra car park, but considering the fact you'd have to walk along the access road and across the A3 with your shopping doesn't convince me. It's been like this for over 10 years and is clearly a permanent reminder of British planning.

A totem pole fixed to a wall at Frimley Lodge Park. It used to stand in the middle of patch of grass. Perhaps it kept falling over ..or getting pushed over.
