When I was small, seeing a robin was always a sure sign of Spring. This little fellow was sitting on the fence to greet me this morning! (For those of you in the UK the robins here are a bit different to the sweet little fellows who grace so many English Christmas cards. The ones here leave when the snow flies!)

Nowadays we're always being urged to "conserve" water by the incompetent racketeers who have cornered the industry here. But this old proverb has been on this "well" since it was built in 1846, as you can see from this Victorian photo.

Thank you, Tabby, for that extra bit of background - I really enjoyed it. I also loved the plaque inscribed 'Waste Not - Want Not'. I wonder how the same plaque would be received in a modern American mall - or in Herrods?

I still think that Jersey cows are much prettier than Guernsey cows, this one is a Guernsey.

It has been another lovely spring day. Here's a shot of the sky at quarter to six this afternoon.

I am very cross with myself today. Late this morning I popped up to the shops to buy my weekend food and I didn't have my camera with me, aaagh! About half a mile from home, if that, I suddenly saw some wild rabbits in a field and right by them were a couple of pheasants. They were close enough to each other that they would have fit in a photo. Needless to say when I was coming home they were not to be seen. That is the first time I have ever seen two pheasants together, not alone with some rabbits.

This afternoon it was pouring with rain so the garden centre got a visit once more (they have a craft section too), I had a chat with the mynha bird then took this photo of a cute long-haired rabbit, at least I assume it is a rabbit, it is looking less so now I cannot see it in the flesh, perhaps it is a guinea pig.

I have wanted to get a photo of this chap (or one like him) for some time now. He was right at the top of the tree, so I have had to zoom in somewhat. Hope he's not too fuzzy!

It does look like a guinea pig as well as a rabbit, however, based on my limited experience with both, I'd say it was a rabbit, based on the ears. The guinea pigs we had always had really short ears. It is cute!

We do have a few village greens in London as well, unlike the others this isn't an ancient one but town planned from around 1910, where there were previously fields.

I know that guinea pigs and frabbits are often kept in the same cage as company for each other, I wonder if a pair got a bit friendly, could this be a rabpig?

Edited to say I have Googled and you can get longhaired rabbits.

Perhaps a breeder used some guinea pigs as guinea pigs to see if they would get friendly with rabbits

Here's what has kept me busy for nearly a week. I had to rebuild the lower unit to house the new high definition (or HD) cable box. There are masses of cables and plugs behind the orderly exterior. They took some sorting out! Showing on the screen is the BBC HD Preview channel. The picture definition/quality is impressive. I spend alot of my time here and it's where I watch TV the most. Things have to be right

My project today was putting up some Spring/Easter decorations. These flags have replaced the 'winter' set!

I've spent Friday and Saturday quizzing in Nottingham. I took my camera but didn't have access to a computer. So here's a picture I took on Friday - the lake at the edge of the University Park campus.

And today, walking round the lake, I met this squirrel, who didn't seem at all concerned by my presence.

It's the start of another month so this thread is now locked. A new thread has been started for April's photos here. Thanks for showing us your part of the world and for the photos of things that you think will be of interest to us all.
