You know...those late night/early morning half hour commercials!

Sometimes they're not all that bad? Have you purchased anything because of them? I think it must be worldwide! Or Shopping Channels? I HAVE. ...a tog or two... stuff to make me younger! I wanna Bowflex, too! Tell me about it! Actually, I've been pleased...except the "coin sorter"...That was a dud! Not worth a plug nickle!

I have a coin sorter. Didn't get it off the tv, though. Mine works great - I've used it a lot to sort and roll coins.

I've bought a video tape before and some CDs off the infomercials. All have been fine - no problems.

I'm intrigued by this Gazelle thing I keep seeing these days being advertised. It looks cool. But, I don't think I have enough room for it. It's an exercise thingy.

NOpe I've never bought anything from them but they drive me mad ... and some of the products that do get advertised are unreal.

i can remember the first one I ever saw was a hair cutter that acted like a vacuum cleaner. You would suck your hair up the tube and it would cut it the same length all over without hair going everywhere because it was sucked into the machine. It was just unreal that someone had invented something like this but could then rave on for half an hour about it.

Some of the things are totally off the wall! I remember that vacuum hair-cutter thing. And, remember Ron Popeil's (the King of Informercial - actually, he really is. He was the pioneer of them) hair spray stuff? If you had a bald spot, you sprayed it with (what amounted to) paint to cover it up.

Mixed in with the weird is some real stuff. Like the CDs and tapes I've bought. All have been real and have been just fine.

What other weird stuff have you seen?

I bought Oxyclean... it works pretty good. The only real emergency I used it on was spilled paint.

We were moving out of our old appt., and I spilled a TON of paint on the floor... after wiping up the excess, I squirted some Oxyclean on the stain and it came up pretty darn good.

I bought a bunch of those "space Bags" that you put all your off-season clothes & such in, then suck out all the air with your vaccuum cleaner...

It actually works great to save space, but they don't tell you that each packed & sucked bag weighs a TON...and you have to store them flat & VERY carefully, so nothing punctures the plastic to let air in...

AND, you have to make sure that whatever you put in there is VERY clean....

Space Bags and Oxyclean, I buy both from QVC. I agree about the weight especially if you want to store them in a top cupboard, you need the muscles of Popeye to lift a large full bag.
