I saw "We Were Soldiers" this weekend. Let me just say it is one of the best Vietnam movies I ever saw. Actually it was one of the best movies period I've seen in awhile. The story was outstanding the acting was strong and the flow of the movie was brilliant. From the opening scene to the closing credits this movie is gripping.

I saw "Blackhawk Down" when it first came out and eventhough it too was a good movie it had one flaw to it that "We Were Soldiers" did not have. Excess gore. In "Blackhawk Down" there were two or three scenes were the gore was so bad it actually detracted from the entire movie. "We Were Soldiers" does not fall into that pit-trap. There were only two or three scenes in it that were gory at all and they were not so gory as to detract from the movie.

All in all "We Were Soldiers" is a movie every American should see. After seeing this movie you will fell an urge to go and thank a veteran.
