The alphabetical states song is a great help. Learned it from my sister in 5th grade. Won me all kinds of prizes at school.

Yay, I got them all!

Very nearly forgot Michigan, but it finally came to me.

I've had to do things like this before... I find it helps to first get the 'New' ones out of the way (New York, New Jersey, etc), then the North/South/West ones, then imagine the East coast, then the West coast, then the South... and then just frantically try to fill in the middle!

I did a lot better than I thought I would, I only missed New Jersey.

I could only get 20. I missed a whole bunch of them. I only really went for those that I've been to and those that have featured in films, literature of some kind. I didn't realise that Missisippi and Missouri were states I thought they were just rivers

I tell ya, this is not an easy thing to do, even for an American! We do this often for fun as a family and we usually always run out of time with one or two still missing. Today I completed it with my best time to date: 4:48 remaining, something I'm sure I'll never be able to do again!! Like GuitarGoddess, I have to do them in an order that works for me, in my case starting with the east coast and working my way south. I usually get lost when I reach the mid-west and have to review my answers. I have to remember there are 8 "M" and "N" states and 4 "New" states, they are usually enough to kick-start my memory but it's not easy since I've never been beyond Missouri in my life.

I thought this would be easy for me since we travel all of them pretty regularly. I never learned this alphabetical state song that everyone's mentioned, but I was able to do it starting in the west and working east. Somehow I missed Nevada and got hung up there for a bit. I had 05:42 left.

Finished with 4 minutes to spare - took a couple of minutes stressing over the last two...

Oh, for crying out loud! I missed three and two of them are right by Colorado...Utah and Nevada...Not too embarrassing!!!

Is it good if you have 7 minutes and 49 seconds left on the clock, have the excuse of typing fast and having a photographic memory, so just went through a mental map in the head.
It was fun though.

I go to this site quite often still just to test myself and I've become quite good at naming them all (alphabetically seems to be the best method for me I've now decided), I think my best time is around 7m35s remaining. Just had to crow about it here as I cannot find the message boards mentioned on that page.

I feel like such a moron; I missed North and South Dakota!

I had 02:36 minutes left when I finished. The three that were eluding me: Oklahoma, Missouri, and New Hampshire!

Funny thing. I did this before and I tried to name all fifty again last night and had all one but with 5 minutes left. I finally remembered Nevada. When I went back through the posts, I found that the first time I named them I left out Nevada as well!

I couldn't spell Massachusettes lol.

But I'm not American so I guess I did well.
