When I look at Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer (Windows XP Home), I see a warning that my disk drive may fail. But at Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager, there are no exclamation points or error marks. I wouldn't even have noticed the Event Viewer message if Tellywellies hadn't mentioned it. Does this look like any imminent problem?

I wonder how many people, like me, have just been into the Control Panel to check! Mine is fine.

Are you backed up?

If you search and read up on the term: The driver has detected that device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has predicted that it will fail, it seems you should be concerned. Although some have said that the disk can work OK for some time before giving trouble. Keep your work well backed up in case anything happens.

You could check the disk for errors. Go to My Computer, right-click on the 'C:\' drive, choose 'Properties'. Go to the 'Tools' tab and click the 'Check Now' button.

Did you manage to clear up the other error messages you are getting (the nvport one)? Concentrate on clearing that up (see your other post) and see if it helps.
