i am reading the land of Elyon Books. They are good books for the people that like adventure. It is about a girl who lives in a place where walls were put up to keep the horrible things outside but she has a feeling that they traped them on the inside. through out the series she is trying to get outside the forbidden wall to see for herself if there are really terrible things on teh other side of the wall.

I have just finished The Edge of Winter by Luanne Rice, and totally enjoyed the book and its characters. As in most of Ms. Rice's novels, she pulls you into all of her book personalities until they become your friends. This book uses a sunken submarine and 55 men who died onboard,to link a young man and his father, a teenager and her mom, and fighting for a cause you believe in. Try it and then try others of this author.

Also, I've finally finished the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I read three books whilst I was trying to read that including "While I live" and "Incurable" by John Marsden. These both only took a couple of days each to read as they're impossible to put down.

Those books are 'The Ellie Chronicles', sequel to the 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' series. I am on the 5th book of the series and when I finish them I want to read those 2. I believe they pick up after the war with Ellie and Homer.........is that correct?
John Marsden IS impossible to put down

Finished Oliver Twist now and I moved on to Bruce Feiler's Where God Was Born, and The Bible.

I pretty much read anything anyone throws in front of me. I enjoy books so much more than movies. I could never watch a movie for an entire day without stopping but I have read books until my eyes feel like they're going to fall out.

Right now, I'm reading what I'm typing so Sue doesn't tell me off for bad grammar. As far as books go, I'm reading Bill Bryson, A Short History of Nearly Everything.

Hi everyone...I'm new at this, so bear with me. Right now I am reading The Measure of a Man: A Spiritual Autobiography by: Sidney Poitier. Wonderful book so far. I am in the middle of it, and I find myself not wanting to put it down.

I'm about a third the way through the classic, 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee.
Unfortunately, as Homer Simpson once said about it, "I'm thinking of giving up on books, as I still haven't learnt anything useful about killing mockingbirds"!
Seriously, it's quite good reading, and I'll be taking it on holiday with me next week.

A wonderful book, Aramis. Truly.
What am I reading? I am reading about what I should be reading! It Is a fascinating book called "501 Must Read Books" It has most interesting reviews of books of most genres, and it feeds the ego as you are bound to find a book in there that you know and love, if not two..I am really enjoying it.

Could you do us a favor of posting on how you liked it? I've always thought of this as a quintessential American book, and am curious as to its perception by folks from elsewhere. In other words, I'd really like to know how a bright Brit would apprehend a novel in unchallenging but lucid prose about the depression-era American South.

Thanks!

Just finished The Cruelest Night by Dobson, Miller and Payne, about the sinking of the liner Wilhelm Gustloff in the Baltic in 1945, and have now plunged headlong into Terry Pratchett's The Light Fantastic to lift my spirits!

That's an amazing book. It's probably my favorite. Harper Lee is a great author.

I'm reading Great Expectations right now (I know I've already posted twice about reading something in the last 3 days, but it's because I read fast), and also Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maitenance.

My summer book reading has increased ten fold from last year; 7 book in the last 2 weeks...I'm on a roll

I'm currently reading a biography on Albert Einstein. The author tries to explain the scientific stuff in laymens terms, but I still don't understand it. However, is does cover alot of his personal life, which is interesting.

I'm reading The Painted Bird for English class... it's so disturbing (explicitly gory) that I shudder before opening it. And I usually like to read before sleeping, during lunch, and on the subway. I know that I'll get nightmares if I read it before going to bed, lose my appetite (a rare occasion indeed) if I read during a meal, and nauseus if I read on the subway at 7:30 in the morning. Maybe I'll pick 100 Years of Solitude back up... but I don't remember much if it, since it's been on hold for at least a month. Oh well.

When I've finished reading it, I'll lend it to a bright Brit, and ask them what they think of it
My wife and I are off to Poland next week for a couple of weeks holiday, including a week long sailing regatta. I'll finish 'Mockingbird' during the holiday, and let you know. It's quite easy reading so far.

My newest acquisition is 'Bodies', by Jed Mercurio. I'm a few chapters in, and I'm really into it. I like the style, it hooks you in. If you'd rather not know how a hospital operates, I'd advise you to steer clear!

Currently, and for the last while the North and South trilogy by John Jakes (am finally half-way through the third installment: Heaven and Hell). Next on my list is Septimis Heap, Book 3: Physik, and then (this summer, of course) Harry Potter 7!!!

Oh, Bones was excellent!! I hope you like it.

I'm currently reading The Lucifer Effect, Anna Karenina, and 1984. But the main book I'm waiting for this summer is the final Harry Potter book.

At the moment I'm reading "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" by Lous De Bernieres.
I had been meaning to read it for years but after hearing it had been made into a film decided to start.
I dislike reading books after I've seen the film.

It's not a 'read in a night book'and I think it took me the first hundred pages to become hooked. I think it's well worth reading. So I'm signing out to get on with it.

Yikes, PJ. Anna Karenina AND something else?! Good luck with that one. I made the mistake of starting to read One Hundred Years of Solitude when Anna Karenina got boring...err, slow... and ended up dropping it completely. I think I'll pick it back up soon though. It was really good.

"The Amphora Project" by William Kotzwinkle. A sci-fi fantasy dealing with immortality, a moon junkyard, insect and reptile people both beautiful and strange, and a treasure hunting spaceship captain wanted for numerous crimes. Much fun.

Yes that is correct. They're as addictive as the "Tomorrow" series so happy reading.

I work in a middle school and most of what I read comes from our media center so I can recommend it(or not) to my students.
Currently I am reading, I am the Cheese, by Robert Cormier.
At home I just finished Time Traveler's Wife.Couldn't put it down.
