high point: did well on a math test (the last one was a 63, this one was a 90 )
low point #1: completely forgot that yesterday was thursday, and thus forgot to go tutor...and think I've portrayed myself as too unreliable. When I called to apologize, the father casually mentioned that the kdis probably doesn't need my help anymore and is starting an afterschool program on thursdays.
low point #2: I was really tired today, and didn't remember to bring my uniform to tae kwon do. My brother just got a larger one, which is my size, but wouldn't use his old bottoms for one class, so I had to wear his old pair of pants that are two sizes too small and didn't allow me to kick higher than my waist or move much at all. Unbelievably embarrassing, especially since I am the only female in the group. Just had another fight, because he always expects me to help him out and do his work for him, but refuses to do anything for me, and takes advantage of how I'm generally a softy. High school is definitely getting to his head...

But compared to the real low points posted last week, I suppose I've got the good lot. No emergencies here.

High of my week is going to take a while to explain I think.

We had a bunch of exchange students coming to our school today, and though my best friend is hosting one, I didn't have the room. I volunteered to be a 'buddy' with my other best friend anyway, and so we get to make friends with at least 2 Japanese students.

We were showing them around the school, describing all of our friends using the term 'henna hito' or 'totemo henna hito' (strange person/very strange person)

It was in general a very fun afternoon and they will be sitting with us at lunch and recess learning just how strange we are.
My best friend's student is called Mai, and my buddy is Takahiro.

My high of the week was that I have Weds off (day before Thanksgiving) for the first time in 13 years at this company.

My low point was trying to get all the work done for that "one single" day off.

But I still love having it off.

I have several highs this week.
First is that I won a trophy for archery - first in the junior girls recurve division of the wand tournament. I hit the 'wand' 17 times. The wand is a strip of tape about an inch thick taped vertically to the target, which is 122cm in diameter. It isn't an easy target to hit, and I hit it 17 times.

My second high was that in a dancing competition yesterday I got 4 ribbons. A first for our progressive team dance (though we were the only team in it)
A second for my waltz, which is actually the dance I'm most unsure about. And a third for my cha cha and merrilyn. For the waltz, cha cha, and merrilyn I was up against the girls who have been dancing for about 4-5 years or more, and I have only been dancing for 9 months. I am very happy.

I had an excellent partner though, and since I've been dancing with him I have improved so much. My boyfriend decided that he didn't like dancing anymore, so I got myself an adult dancer (not that kind of adult dancer) who is one of the best dancer I have ever danced with. I feel really glad that he has actually agreed to dance with me.

My high of the week was taking my two kids, age 4 and 8, to see Santa on Saturday. This is possibly the last time my daughter(the 8 y.o)will get such joy from seeing Santa as she has started asking probing questions. My 4 year old, however, was awe struck. At least this year he had a conversation with Santa (well I suppose Calum... yes... no... nintendo DS, constitutes something of a conversation to an awe struck 4 year old).
My low point is that I have just had to tend to the same 4 year old who has woken up crying, complaining of a sore throat. Isn't it so frustrating when children are not well and they don't fully understand what's happening?

I hope your child is feeling better Beerboy. No highs or lows this week. Just another week. Work, eat, sleep, repeat.

Thankyou Lady and Clarasue.
I hope to become a 'master' at dancing, they are really good, and they get to wear cool dresses.

Well done on both the dancing and archery successes lioness. I recall some years ago being quite good at dancing, and getting a few certificates, etc. Sadly those days are gone, and I'm now only an occasional social dancer.
Ref the archery, how far were you from the target when you hit the wand 17 times; seems pretty impressive!

I can't remember, it was either 15m or 20m, most likely 15, but I had only been doing archery for about a month.

Low for today I haven't seen my Mom in forever and I'm really missing her. I'm not traveling either. And the worst part of all is that I didn't have a chance to shop on Black Friday when all the sales were big.

My low point today was waking up with a terrible headache.

My high point was coming home after being away for 4 days and seeing the exitment on my children's faces. 'Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!'

make that 'excitment'. I'm not sure what exitment is but it sounds like it might not be pleasant!

My high for the day was I made it through work in one piece! The Cowboys played tonight, and with a school fundraiser in the mix as well, it means for an extremely busy day. I'm just glad it's over.

Well, my high is really for the entire week. Our new grandson was finally born on Wednesday morning, after much waiting and several false alarms. I learned that the waiting part is much more fun when I am not the one who is going into labor and having the baby! I have also learned this week that having a 4-year-old for a houseguest for 3 days is a lot more wearing than watching him for a few hours! I am on my last nerve - would that suggest I am not as young as I used to be?

I hope all is well , and you will get a rest! It is a terrific feeling . I found it far more exciting than having my children.

Big congratulations CinnamOn I am sure the new baby will be exceedingly well loved and spoiled!
Eveything is still going well in "Jane's world". As a matter of fact, there will be a new arrival in my family, in April, all being well One of my twin niece's is expecting her first child, making me a Great Aunt (but Aunt will be just fine!) and making Mum a Great Grandma. Me and Mum are looking forward to helping look after he or she when my niece returns to work.
I am enjoying my college course too. Preparations for Christmas are all in hand - the majority of my shopping is done.

I don't know you yet CinnamOn, but congratulations on the new addition! Babys are cool...especially when you can give them back to mom and dad! Or at least thats what my parents tell me anyway.

Thanks, everyone! Mom and baby came home from the hospital today, and I have delivered the other family member back to them. He will be a big help, I'm sure.
Congratulations on your big day coming in April, Jane! You will have fun spoiling that one!
