Oh wow - a high! I just received an email from Mada (denni19) to tell me I had won $86 worth of vouchers to spend on craft supplies from another website. Now we need Mada to come and tell us HER good news!

Hello again everyone!
I'm tentatively saying to myself that I will visit more often. However, if I disappear again, don't be too surprised.
High of the week is that I don't have to take a 7 hour plane ride for another 26 days. Airports and airplanes have seemingly become even MORE dreary recently.
No lows at the moment except that I'm back from my trip to Iowa; and that of course means I am back at work. Tech support begins to drag one down after a while.

Congratulations to you too Mada. If you two keep winning the web site will make no money. Enjoy making your shopping lists and enjoy your free stuff. The cards you make are beautiful. My Christmas card from Sue is proudly displayed on my side-board and when the light catches it just right it looks like it has been lit up. Im very proud of it. Thanks Sue.

Ok, first off, this is the highest of the high, the best day in a long long time and it must have took some planning!! Today's my birthday. Not a special birthday - my 18th and 21st are well behind me and it isn't even a "zero" birthday. But today has beaten the majority of my birthdays so far My sister and her husband are going to London in January, to see the Tutten-Karmen exhibition. After I've blown out my birthday cake, with Mum, my sister and one of my nieces, Mum handed me a Christmas Cracker. A Christmas Cracker, for those who do not know, is a cardboard tube, with a "snapper" inside. It usually contains a novelty gift, a joke and a paper hat. So I pulled the cracker and a certifcate (home made of course, by Mum! ) fell out. It announced that I was going to London in January, with Mum (of course!) my sister, and her husband, by train. While my sister and her husband see the exhibition me and Mum are going to see "The Sound of Music" on stage. I'm a total musical nut, so that is my dream present! Only for two days - Saturday until Sunday. But me and Mum might have a chance to browse London while my sister and her husband are at the exhibition. This, for me, has been one of the best birthdays ever. I'm 1000% sure Dad has been watching this today, and he would have been delighted with the surprise. So Jane is going to have to suck a lemon now, until Christmas at least!

That is fabulous news! Really happy for you, Jane I love musicals too and seeing them in London makes it even more special! I saw Buddy in London too many years ago now to think about but it was the best night out. So I hope you have a great weekend. Now to try and catch up! Congratulations Cinnamon!!!! May the best of health bless the new addition toyour family Weel done to Lioness for your dancing awards. Great work! And yay! To Sue and Mada for their good fortune, I hope you spend it wisely! high for me is that it's the last week of school work this week. Yeeeeehaawwwwwwwwwwww!!! There are still technically two more weeks but next week is the breakup awards and party in Broken Hill so there is no work assigned as everyone will be there and the week after is the last week so what is the point in doing work to send it in when the teachers will be on holidays anyway and can't mark it. I've enjoyed doing the school with COnor, when he 'gets' something it's very rewarding but my word it can be frustrating at times as well! no lows - life is being very kind to me lately. Quote:
make that 'excitment'. I'm not sure what exitment is but it sounds like it might not be pleasant!
hehe - that's my giggle for the day - thanks

Happy late birthday, Miss Marple. I 've been scarce around here lately and didn't realise there had been a little cake hovering over your name till this morning. Hope it was wonderful!

Well in the last week I've not just won one voucher for £20 by coming first on monthly predict a score football quiz I do every week but just got another £20 voucher from Facebook, presumably from my scratchcard. How they pay for them beats me as we don't but I don't have to really know as long as they do.

Lucky you!
I love the Sound of Music, and I saw it live when I was young.
Happy Birthday, and may you enjoy it all the more for seeing the Sound of Music.

While growing up, my family always had pets around the house: dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds, but they were always considered mine or my sister's. Seven years ago, my dad bought a beautiful yellow labrador dog that ended up being his buddy. My dad never had pets while growing up so this was, in effect, his very first dog and he positively dotes on her. We're always joking that he'd save his dog first, then mom, if there was danger. My low for the day is that last night my mother called to tell me that my dad's dog, Amber, is in renal failure and there's nothing the vet can do to help her. I didn't want to mention this on Vendome's thread because that belongs to him, but I wanted to say that there were so many wonderful things said there by the members here, that I will be copying a lot of that to give to my dad. I know this is going to just devastate him and it hurts me to see my dad in pain. I've lost a few dogs in my lifetime that were my best friends, but this is a first for my dad.
