Taesma, I'm very sorry to hear about Wanda. It sounds like she was a wonderful kitty and she was beautiful too. You can tell why she chose you as your family, as you clearly gave her a lot of love. My condolences to you.

Sorry, I've had a rather busy couple days and no time to respond, but
thank you all so much for your kind words. It helps a lot that some people take it seriously. I've had my share of "but it was just a cat" people in the past and it makes me hesitant at times to speak my feelings unless I really know someone. But I knew you lovely people would understand.
Thanks again

Those "but it was just a cat" people have obviously never owned a cat. My condolences as well Taesma.

Back on to highs and lows.

High - Learning that I am going to see HP5 tomorrow.

Low - I havn't really had a low, a few little things I've disliked though, like mowing the lawn, which hasn't been mowed in months.

Never had a cat - or any other pet - Taema but my condolences too

I am sure you'll love it, it looks as if it going to stick really close to the book (for a change ). I don't have many friends to go to the cinema with me, so perhaps I will wait until it out on DVD near Christmas. But my highlight will be along in 10 days - I am sure any Harry Potter will know what it is! The seventh and "final" (final in quotes, you never know, Jo may treat us one day with another book!) Harry Potter book ia released on July 21st. I am planning to throughly enjoy reading it...and hopefully having Stephen Fry reading the audio book right beside me too!

Were it not for Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter on the radio at Christmas I'd never have got into it myself. Although I'm now up to the third (?) film which seems more of a rehash of the first two (I may have lost count) I still like the general format, characters and especially the magic powers.

My high (yesterday) was completing my 4th TV filming, this time for the USA based WETV to be aired around December there. It's going to be a lot longer than all the others although I'll only be able to see it when they send me a copy in the new year.

I haven't done anything particularly special so far this week but on Sunday I'm in a show in a West End Theatre which should be high.
My low was having to have my granddad drive me about 30 miles in his car, took nearly 2 hours, we got lost & everytime he hit the breaks my neck & back got jolted.

Same here, with the Stephen Fry reading, it must had been about Boxing Day 2000. I'd heard all about Harry Potter book, but never bothered with them, considering them "children's books". But after hearing the recording of the first book, I was hooked!

Rather a high yesterday--I made a new genealogical connection, a descendant of my grandmother's uncle. This is a line that I've been hunting for for quite awhile now. I knew where they were, New York, but just couldn't find any evidence. This woman found a tree I had posted online 5 or 6 years ago on a site I'd forgotten about and recognized some names.
Patience pays off. It's so exciting when something finds you out of the blue.

The wildest thing is that for years my father lived in Florida and at one point told me that there was a guy living down the street with my grandmother's maiden name (rather an unusual one in the US). Turns out that this man was the new-found cousin's grandfather! Small world, eh?

Wow! That's so exciting Taesma. I don't have any connection with family beyond my mother. I don't know anything about my family history as they all died too soon. I don't even have baby photos of myself or a picture of my father, as an adult(Who died at 40). So that would be huge to me. I guess my family tree is going to start with me and my husband now.
I wish you all lots of luck with your discoveries.

My high today is that my 12 year old daughter recieved her results from her music theory exam (that she wrote in June) and she got 89% (a distinction). I am so proud of her.
This was her second music exam and her second distinction.

Although it's not much closer to being shown than before, I just got the DVD of my 3rd TV programme, which as well as having slightly more coverage of me than the last, had every person I work with in other episodes at their houses and the person who gets me the work in the first place. It's the first programme which included them all, my work contact, two men and a woman who have all featured in separate programmes with me before and since but never seen together till now.

It is like having my own little family or community, all brought together by a shared interest. We are all spread out over S.E. England so rarely meet in person, a few times a year, but are in regular contact and over the time we've worked together have become a very close group. Now I'm waiting for a date when others can see it, next possible is next month via web TV. Fingers crossed!

My congratulations to her Lynn-ann. Music theory isn't the easiest of things.

I would have to say a high of my week would be seeing all my friends again now that the holidays are over. Most of them went away and I was not able to catch up with them.

Today I saw a sight that made me smile and gladdened my heart. I was driving through our local town at 8am. I had just passed a turning and gone through a set of traffic lights. On the opposite side of the road there was a small access to the back of a couple of properties. Out of this came two swans, with a couple of cygnets in tow. They totally ignored everyone and just waddled across the road. The traffic stopped for a couple of minutes just to watch. I wish I had my camera in the van with me.

Today I was in a Ballroom Dancing competition. I didn't win anything but my partner won 1st place twice. It was great fun and there was a wonderful atmosphere. There were little kids about 6 there as well, it's wonderful to see kids dancing so young.

Not much has happened for me today.

High - Atlanta Braves baseball team won

Low - Overslept (really can't stand to oversleep. I feel like half of my day has been wasted)

Ahh, piffle. My first time posting in this thread.

Low: I can't sleep. Still awake at 5:29 am. I may as well go to the grocery store and then do my laundry. Talk about a low!

Insomnia? What insomnia? Who, me? But you are right Sue, it's not fun. No sleep at all last night, fell into bed tonight and collapsed. Four hours later, her I am up again. Oh well, I'm getting some quilting done and also some data entry. So I guess I'll have to consider that my high for, let's see, yesterday or today? Oh I know -- both!

I suppose you have tried oil of lavender on the pillow. I just go 'zonk'.

Ah, Jar I can quite empathize.
I rarely can get anything done at those times, myself; I may be wide awake but I'm still awfully tired. No energy to do anything.
Let me know if you find a cure. *sigh*

It's rotten when you can't sleep. I always fall asleep with the radio on low (I listen to a "talk" show, no music at all) and if I get board, I always have a audio tape to hand. Of course it helps that I don't have anyone else in the room with me!

One of these nights I will actually sleep. I'd like to try a scent, but since I am allergic to most of them I couldn't possibly do that for the whole night. I can handle a lavender bath for a while though. Maybe I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestions. On the up side I got a little more quilting done tonight.

According to Aromatherapists most people don't have an allergy to lavender, it is just one of those 'herbs' that the majority of people don't have a reaction to. Perhaps a little dried lavender under you pillow you can toss out if it gets too much for you will help. Good Luck.
