Depends on whether you're talking about the Quizzyland mailbox or the forums PM mailbox.
For Quizzyland, I don't think there is a limit. Messages get automatically deleted when they become two months old. For the forums I believe it's 300 PMs. There's another thread about that in I believe the Feedback Forum, so you could check to make sure.
