I'll have to make sure my niece never sees this photo (especially as you are also in Canada) - she can't stand even the tiniest spiders!

I spent the last few years of my working life at the Angel in Islington, just a couple of hundred yards from the New River Head buildings, so I'm grateful to Aramis for showing me what the "river" itself looks like.

This is Upper Lake, the southern end of the main street through Battle.

I thought about driving into town to take a few photos, then thought Friday 13th, nah I won't go far from home. I decided to pop into the tearoom around the corner for a piece of cake (to take away) and heard the noise of some geese so took a wander through the field. The geese and a sheep wouldn't stay still so I walked back and took a photo of this cow instead. I am trying to decide if she is pregnant as well as fed up looking.

Spring is here and some people have started fixing up their gardens again. I know where many of the best ones are and out of quite a few I had to choose one so here it is.

Anyone who has met me will tell you that I habitually wear a baseball cap. I have many... Here are just a few of them.

(I'm jealous of all the spring flower/lovely day photos. It's still dreary here and I despair of ever being able to take photos of the flowers in my garden.)

My brother and I stand here whenever we visit the area. The big debate is whether either of us are brave enough to ride down the hill. The photo doesn't really show the deep gullies carved out by the rain. It would be difficult to choose a safe path to the bottom. As usual, we both chickened out and pointed our bikes in a different direction

My neighbor came to get me to see an opossum that he found in his garbage can. Animal control came out to get the animal and release it closer to his own home. Turned out to be a fairly large opossum. Another "caged" animal!

On the right is the bus stop I used to wait to go home from East Finchley station. Oddly enough this is the very bus I waited for but usually waited far longer for it than the 15 minute walk home which was the alternative.

Here is another photograph from Queens Gardens in Perth. This is an autographed replica of Sir George Frampton's statue of Peter Pan. The original is in London's Kensington Gardens. This replica was presented to the children of Western Australia in 1927 by the Rotary Club of Perth. When I was a small child, my mother and I would catch the bus to the park and have a picnic lunch. I would climb the statue and feed the ducks and the carp (they won't let you do that now of course).

I was out shopping most of the day, but didn't take any pictures. My sister has given permission to show you her lovely Sheltie, my 'niece' Maggie

This was taken on Easter Sunday.

I was heading down to the beach today and came across an old car show down by Hartlepool marina.

Took this photo, then the battery on camera went so had to take others with my moblie phone.

This is the one from the camera.

I went out to water the plants in my greenhouse only to discover that the budding David Beckham next door has managed to break two panes of glass with one kick! I assume it richoceted off the wall. It wouldn't be so bad but the greenhouse is as far from their garden as it can be. The top pane has fallen a few feet away! His father only mended the last lot a few weeks ago.

I took this in the evening, it was so quiet until the pilot turned on the gas to fill it with more hot air. We went up in one last Halloween, it was amazing.

This is from our front door.

A lovely lot of varied photos today.

This yew tree stands in the churchyard at Crowhurst, a couple of miles outside Hastings. Apparently it's pretty well impossible to tell the age of a yew, but it's generally agreed to be at least a thousand years old and maybe much older. When I looked for details on the web, I found that there's a village in Surrey with the same name which also has an ancient yew tree.

As I simply can't function in the morning until after my third cup of coffe, I couldn't resist this metal sign as decoration for my kitchen. Wish coffee was still that price!

Nice picture, Liz, and it is also historic that your picture has the old US 66 on it.

This picture is of the hanging flower box on our balcony that is my hubby's pride and joy. He had so carefully planted it yesterday and was so proud of the job he did when disaster struck at 4 am this morning. I was sleeping when I was awoken by hubby yelling for me. My feet hit the floor and I went running out to the living room to see what was wrong thinking the worst.

He wasn't there and I couldn't see him when I said where are you? He yelled on the balcony and so off I flew thinking something bad had happened to one of our kitties. Well I got there and all over the floor was the hanging basket with the dirt and flowers all over the floor. Seems the hook let loose from the ceiling and crashed to the floor. He was so upset, so there I was on my hands and knees at 4 am scooping up plants and dirt and hopefully wishing the plants would be ok.

I didn't have the heart to take an after picture.

This afternoon as it was really lovely out I decided to take a drive down to Corbiere (again) and as it was low tide I walked out to the lighthouse. This photo is taken almost at the end of the causeway, it was quite a long walk!

Some of the rhododendrums in my garden are now in bloom. Here's one of them.
