The flowers are not out yet in my part of the country, the last of our snow has just melted. I took this one on our desk last summer. I just love the Monarch Butterfly.

Another Clydesdale photo.

Aww, I like the Clydesdale.

It was another wet, miserable day today - though not so bad as a bit to the east of here - so here's one from a week or so ago. It's taken from my backyard, looking through the window at where I'm sitting right now. You can just see the computer screen.

What a lovely close-up of the butterfly.

I loved Liz's coffee sign. This is the poster that adorns my own kitchen (for some reason it's practically impossible to get the light right in there).

When I was walking out to the lighthouse yesterday it was a bit spooky as normally the causeway is covered with fairly deep water. It is really rocky. The photo isn't brilliant as the haze was forming, in fact whilst I was walking back the foghorn started to sound.

Here is a fuzzy image taken on a rainy Sunday in the local park when we had a real downpour. I decided to take a walk in the rain with my camera:

The swing bridge across the Basingstoke Canal. If this is open so that barges can pass through, we can't get home without adding another mile to our walk. It is left open from about 5-00 p.m until the next morning. A nuisance if you've left it a bit late and had enough of walking.

Don't know what the light should look like, but it's certainly quite striking on this image, nice one!

This must be the last big show of daffodils we'll see around here this year - taken in a nearby garden.

This isn't a photo of a polar bear, it's really a brown bear and she's not an albino. They come in many shades but this white color is very rare.

Unfortunately her mother was killed by a car in northern Manitoba when she was just a cub. She was rescued by conservation officials and now lives at our zoo in Winnipeg.

Soon after daffodils we get the bluebells. This is the furthest north extent of Hampstead Heath, the wall with the little sentry boxes was part of a planned set of views but ended up being the only one which was built.

Well, again it wasn't a picture taking day, so here's one I've been playing around with, scanning and trimming. It's me, quite a number of years ago, with my cat Smoky (or possibly Smoky's mother Frisky...). Note that I already had a 'thing' for wearing hats.

Not sure what this is but I thought it was pretty all by itself (the plant it came from is actually back farther against the wall, and this flower pushed its way out amidst the bush in front of it.)

It's a lovely day down here, but I've been stuck indoors waiting for a parcel to be delivered; so I'll follow up yesterday's gin poster with a beermat.

All these lovely blossoms. My neighbour probably thinks I am slightly batty but I asked if I could take a photo of her tree. It is a slightly bizarre one, unfortunately you cannot see it in the photo but it is part white single flowers and part the pink double. The white is probably a sucker which they didn't cut off.

I've always liked playing with trains, here's a real one entering Willesden Green station in the background.

Panama's guayacan trees. They bloom at the end of dry season signaling rainy season is just around the corner.

In Hope BC they have an artist there that does wood carvings, they have many all over town.

I took photos of them all but this one was a favorite.

Here's another train photo for you. The cyclist sailed into the frame just as the engine got to where I wanted it, but as we can only see the guy's back, I thought it would be OK to post.
