My cat Rosie, posing in front of the door. The sight I woke up to this morning after my trip. She may even have missed me...

This is our Fred who is the youngest of our three house cats at just 16months old. He seems to like to pick uncomfortable places to nap

He weighs in at just over 7kg and, according to the breeder, he still has three years of growing to go. You can see the other two at

Lovely cats, SOTHC, and if Fred wasn't comfy, he wouldn't be there!

Ren, has Rosie forgiven you for going away? If she's by the door, she may be guarding it, eh?

Beaufort, SC has a display of 31 mermaids. This one is "La Peli Roja" (The Redhead)

Lovely day. Spent a good part of it hearing all about the Wonders of Oz but then went out to start the weeding. I didn't do much, but have made a start.

Just by random exploring I discovered Dollis Hill is actually on a ridge where you can see the whole of London if you walk across the road to look from south to north. This is the view south, and just out of sight to the left is Crystal Palace TV antenna.

Glad I may have inspired some more trains Liz, and of course you can never have too many cat pictures!

Another view along the 'New River' near my home - actually constructed nearly 400 years ago to take drinking water to London - and still working today!

Okay SOTHC, if we're doing our pets, have a look at mine.

This could have been taken today because I actually did ride across this brook to see if it was deep enough to get a boot-full of water (luckily, it wasn't). However I have to admit that the photo is me doing the same thing last year on very similar sunny Spring day.

I was thinking of snapping some bluebells today, but satguru has beaten me to it, so here are some primroses in a local wood.

Woohoo, it works! This is the Crooked House at Adventure Island (AKA Peter Pan's Playground) in Southend. It must be one of the oldest amusement park attractions in the country. The sign above and to the left of the guy in the red shirt shows the level that the flood waters from the Thames reached in 1953.

It was a lovely day today, and I took some photos in one of the local parks today, but I'll save them for a rainy day. When I got home, I caught Katt contemplating jumping on Winston's head, and thought it worth sharing.

SOTHC, are those Maine Coons? Or something similar? They're gorgeous!

Ok, I'll jump on the pet bandwagon. Here's my skinny little girl, Wanda (also called Wah):

I took this picture because of the four squirrels playing on the tree trunk. Shame that building at the back spoils the picture

Link to a larger photo

Whoops - sorry Sue - I did it that size as the squirrels did not show up very well

Edit: Resized

I second that Sue. Can't see those squirrels at all.

Another great pic of of Katt - and Wanda's eyes catch the light beautifully.

A few sheep grazing and sleeping on a farm at Crowhurst.

This was taken in the fall when we first fired up the woodstove - my dog, Maggie and my daughter's cat, Stella decided this was where they would spend the winter!
