I liked Pluto, but then it got evicted from the Solar System

Supposedly Mercury is smaller than Pluto, so why didn't they evict that instead, after all Pluto has a dog named after it!

Always had a soft spot for Saturn - those rings are pretty spectacular.

The whole things boggles my mind though. I can't think about the distances involved without getting a headache.

I generally think about future human advances and as Mars will be the first planet that humans make their new planet home on it has to be my favorite. With water available on Mars and the speed at which our technology is progressing I don`t think it will be more than 100 years till there is a settlement there.

I`ve read that it may be possible to terraform Venus but that the process would be long.

I love the idea of living on other planets, but whilst that remains in the realm of science-fiction and pipe-dreams, for now I'm obliged to declare my commitment to our beautiful, bountiful planet earth.

I didnt really think favourite planets were a thing, but... Mars is cliche, Venus well its always in the sky aint it. Uranus is best left alone, Saturn and Jupiter just a bunch of clouds, Mercury too small, Pluto not a planet anymore, Earth familiarity breeds contempt. I guess that leaves Neptune. At least until we find some more.

My favorite planet, besides Earth of course, would have to be Neptune. I just love its color, shape and number of moons. I even remember a couple of the moons from an old astronomy project...

Earth, of course, since I don't know anything about the other planets.

Obviously I love earth, but if I was to pick another it would be the gas giant, Jupiter. It saves us from a bashing and those clouds always look so angry.. storms rage there for hundreds of years.

I'd love to know what goes on inside those clouds.

Can't you just tell i'm an astronomy nut lol

Earth is superlatively beautiful as seen from space and close up in many parts. Otherwise, Saturn for its beautiful ring formations and then Jupiter for the beautifully coloured bands, especially in the close -up photographs taken from Cassini (unmanned spacecraft). From earth the planet I most love to see is Venus because she looks so beautiful shining in the early evening sky, often not far from the crescent moon. I'm sure this is what inspired the Ottoman symbol.

I love Earth best because it is the only planet I have known to call home.
