I change the roll when I thought it was needed but my wife complains if I leave it when it still has one or two sheets still on it. Judging by the survey I can see why she is miffed

Can anyone remember colored toilet paper? You used to be able to buy it in pink, blue, yellow, etc, I suppose to match the decor of your bathroom.

Oh yeah! I had forgotten that it used to come in colors. Weren't they discontinued because the dyes were too harsh on sensitive bottoms?

After reading the question ecnalubma posed and then how many actually answered it, I don't even remember what color my bathroom is!

I have not seen coloured toilet paper for years but we do get white with green and blue pictures on it.

This place has a picture of some fairly recent coloured paper. I wasn't aware that it had gone out of use, perhaps it hasn't here, or maybe I just don't go shopping enough (I really hate it.) This picture just shows the packet, though, I think. Here is some actual coloured toulet roll:

and you will not believe this one:

ROFLOL! With that last picture, I'm sure some people would never get out of the bathroom.

I'm with you, Copago, about Government issue TP. I used to complain that my office, instead of purchasing 2 or 3 ply soft tissue, would buy 1-ply sandpaper.

The second picture shown puzzled me. I guess I never thought of toilet paper as a way to announce the birth of a child, but I guess it's healthier than a cigar!

I guess no one told my local supermarket about not having coloured paper - we can still buy it in colours. In fact I have some peachy/apricot right now as they had run out of white in my brand.

I never did understand the post which started this thread...

Why is it, that the cheaper the toilet paper, the more glue they use?

What glue?

Would it be a roll for each pound in weight?

I just Googled Andrex which is my preferred brand and see that they have reduced their colour range to four as most people are favouring white.

Quote:

Andrex also pulls in specific expertise when it needs help with a particular project. For example, when it rationalised its colours last year, it brought in interior designers and colour psychologists to understand the colours today's consumers favour for their bathrooms. “We discovered most consumers have white suites with a pastel complementary colour elsewhere in the bathroom, so we brought our colour range down to four key colours and also made these shades more pastel-ey,” explains Smith.

I wonder if the toilet paper colour psychologists chose that occupation when they were young, or just fell into it on their journey through life? I had no idea that such a job even existed! Is a university degree required?

Sue, I just happenedd to be sitting and thinking one day, you can guess where from the topic, and the new roll of paper I took out of the pack had a blob of glue to stop it unravelling. It wasn't an expensive brand, and the amount of glue they used made it almost impossible to use the first few sheets. The more expensive brands are always easier to begin using.

You should never use the first few sheets of the cheap stuff RMG as you will never be able to prise your cheeks apart again

I thought it was heat sealed, not glued. Then I use Andrex.

No, just the ability to go through the motions.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes

The main colours, other than white, are pastel shades of pink, blue, green and yellow. And if buy a certain brand, you can even get it embossed with puppies.
