I agree, Joyce, when it comes to the loo paper, full speed ahead and the ecology be darned! I like (okay, I love) my Kleenex toilet paper and I do not wish to use another brand.
It bothers a small, primitive part of my mind that they insist on printing/embossing puppies, flowers, and seashells on it. I really don't want to wipe my botty with any of those, especially the sea-shells. Ooooh!
To get back on topic - it certainly does seem that the cheaper rolls are glued shut - Cubby has taken to stealing the work stuff (which irks me on so many different levels), and you can't prise of the first few sheets with a crow-bar.
My beloved Kleenex appears 'pressed' together gently, but sufficiently, so that it holds together inside the packet, but unfurls when placed on the roll. Without the elbow-bashing and the bad language that would make Gordon Ramsay proud while trying to undo the first sheets of a new roll of the cheap stuff.
I have seen lots of interesting prints - cubby has some with SuDoKu puzzles printed on, since he has taken to spending his time in the smallest room with a pencil and the newspaper.
Or perhaps he is having other difficulties? Who knows?!

I first heard that one about a constipated accountant ...! I'm trying to figure out exactly what to embroider on the toilet paper. I'm terrible with SuDoKu, so I might as well do something while I'm in there ... *edited to add* It's the only 'me' time I get lately

Why not embroider music on to it? Becareful though, as you don't want to get a bum note

Renova Toilet Paper. "The perfect gift for hard to gift hostess". I don't know about anyone else, but I do not think a 6 pack of bright orange toilet paper falls into the gift category. This also comes in black, for the goth bathroom. To keep my post on topic (sort of), Renova claims to be environmentally friendly, so I don't know about the glue. $13.50 (U.S.) for 6 rolls of toilet paper? Wait, they're 3-ply! Well, I'll have to rush out and buy them in bulk. http://tinyurl.com/5u7n49

Perhaps it would be easier to just use tissues! That way, you won't need toilet paper at all! Best of all, though, there's no glue! Moreover, they're nice and soft (for those who don't like government issue toilet paper) and you can get all kinds of pictures!

Most tissues shouldn't be flushed in most systems, should they?

British systems should cope - I think baskets are most unpleasant & unhygenic.
Traditionaly the British working class used newspaper squares on a nail - Someone has just writen an article in the Mail & said if he came across an intersting article he would move it to the wall end of the nail.
Also some of Terry Pratchetts almanacks are marked with a place for the nail.

Well, cydonia, now you know what not to get me for Christmas! I guess I really have no style consciousness whatsoever seeing that "it's been a big hit in Europe for years". I don't think I have ever seen this on our's here in the U.S.: 'has been tested under gynecological control.' Okay...

? ? ? ? What the ...? ? ? ? How exactly is toilet paper tested under gynaecological control? And why would you? I'm not sure why it would need to be tested there - am I missing what some people are doing with their toilet paper (please don't tell me - I'm happy to be left in the dark on this one). Also, how does this apply to the male end (lol) of the market? I've not met that many men who need their TP 'gynaecologically tested'. Strength testing, on the other hand, I get. I'm going back to my embroidery patterns, now... How about clouds?
