I didn't get a chance to do the French version, but as these tests are culturally biased, they often give false results for different people.
I did buy an IQ test CD recently and tried it. I'm a 98!
I mean, I didn't even pass the 100 barrier?
However well I do in French, and I've won French people in Scrabble who are fanatics sometimes, I don't think like a Frenchwoman (thank Goodness for small favours!) therefore, the cultural bias is just enough to skew the 149 I deserved, huh?
I'm thinking it might be that hair frosting job I had a few months ago, they apparently had a team of Blonds take the test.
Perhaps I lost a few points there!
Another thing I thought was really creepy on the CD was that you had to remember facial features about a drawing. wrinkles, smile, hair, and a name. I'm good at this normally, but this time, they used the same drawings for different names in the next exercise!
Funny as that's the thing I'm known for in real life, and on the test, it wasn't good as I remembered the drawing from the last test, ie a long haired guy named Jean-Paul Belmondo, and then they'd give him another name in the next one!
So I try not to let it bother me.
