The pet duck coming barging over for a feed this morning. She doesn't have a name, she's just 'the duck' and hangs around and comes and goes as she pleases. There are some wild ducks on a dam not far from the house so she goes and hangs out with the but always comes home for a feed and at night.

Wow, I remember before Conor was born! Is he our youngest member? Amazing!

Ren, I did notice the graffiti which covers almost every surface here now. I assumed it was unavoidable if people insist on doing it, but if they can stop it in one place they can stop it everywhere. If there's any policy that works for Hong Kong we need to import it here, I think if a cat stayed in one place too long it would get tagged nowadays...

I think maybe you should upgrade his signature line, Jill He was a tad more lucid when I met him! That's a great pic .
David, I think I will start a thread about that. Thanks.
Continuing a stroll through HK Mid Levels, this is the same path , lower down, but still under a flyover. It is a great area for cooling down in Summer. I assume that's why they were planted.

Liz, thanks to you and Argus for some lovely pics of Canada.

This is the former Town Hall (now a museum) in the Old Town of Hastings. The pub next door is the Jenny Lind, and its her pic that appears on the sign. It's the only pub I've ever known that's dedicated to the nineteenth-century diva, but apparently there are others, including one in Wimbledon. When I was a kid in the Old Town, the Jenny Lind was kept for a time by Don Cockell, the former British heavyweight boxing champion.

Tell Lynda they are lovely. I will be trying my hand at a few Oriental ones soon, I have a very good friend in Hong Kong who is sending me some genuine Chinese papers. Drop a strong enough hint and she might even send some to Lynda!

You can also tell Lynda I will be sending her a bill shortly, I took her advice and tuned to Create and Craft - it has cost me a fortune!

Several years ago I called in a team of gardeners to sort out my garden as it was overgrown with brambles. I told them I had made a start and had pruned the fuchsia nearest the house but then gave up and they could sort the rest of the garden. The supervisor obviously didn't pass this information on to the Portuguese worker and the next thing I knew was my fuchsia was ripped from the ground and broken up. Last year, so after a period of a couple of years, it sprouted again. I have pruned it this year and hopefully at some stage it will reach the massive size (about a metre across and high) that it was before they tried to kill it. It is 'Garden News' and well worth buying if you can get one.

I just remembered, this was the subject of my first photo back in February! Call it senior moments.

Yeah, but it's grown a bit since then. It doesn't look like the same plant.

Beautiful shot argus! Here's a very alert meerkat at our local zoo, Paradise Park, where my wife often works doing children's facepainting.

A little gecko - must have lost his tail recently and is in the process of growing a new one.

His crest is down and his colours aren't showing (it was a dull day), but this is a blue jay, on my sister's roof this afternoon.

The photo is probably a bit misleading - they are only really little, about two inches long.

Haha I didn't realize that Sue943 was talking to Copago (didn't know your name), and I saw that it was Re: spanishliz, so I thought she was talking about the bluejay.

Needless to say, I was very confused about why a bluejay was considered "Ewk". Now I get it

The pictures are beautiful. I have a thing for animal photos and landscapes.

Will do. I'm actually going fishing tomorrow, so I'll take my camera and snap a couple shots. I've been meaning to anyway, with the beavers and ducks that are around, but I keep forgetting the camera.

You have just inspired me

Sorry, Sue, I do not mean to laugh at you, but the thought of anyone being scared of a gecko just seems ludicrous.

Geckos are lovely creatures, they help keep the insects down. In Spain, friends of mine had one that lived high on their living room wall that was rather larger than two inches, but he was gorgeous.
