I love cats too! Isn't it hard to get a good picture of a black cat? I once had a black cat just like yours and almost every picture I have of him is that of a black blob with magnificent eyes! What's her name?

Another hectic Saturday at work with no spare time for taking photos.
So all I can do today is....keep a baggy eye on what you're posting .

Another view of Warsaw; this is part of the huge 'Warsaw Uprising' memorial. The figures are about 3 times lifesize, and this is just one group. An estimated 150,000 Poles died in the uprising, which occurred late 1944, see Warsaw_Uprising

One of the first requests I had here when we started posting blog photos was a red phone box. These were actually removed about 20 years ago in most places and the one I showed was one someone had bought and put in their front garden. Here is a real one that's actually still in use.

If you'd like a similar 'challenge', how about trying to get a photo of a blue police box, ie, a 'Tardis'!
I believe there are still a few left in London.

I tried to get a photo of a blue jay today, but he kept flying away! Instead, here's a picture of Maggie from yesterday's visit.

My daughter's kitten Miss Jools has been staying. This is her impression of a temple cat.

Yesterday I popped into the local tearooms to buy a piece of cake; they have the most wonderful homemade cakes and they greet me by name as I am a regular! They have a lovely little garden with some tables for people to sit out in clement weather. The garden is very sheltered but I was still surprised to see this climbing rose with so many blooms.

They are the old fashioned type and smell just wonderful, click here for a close up photo of a bloom.

Some more great cats - and Maggie's a fine beast too.

Here's a bright and early view of Hastings town centre.

There are parts of this strange mix up of a place that are really fascinating. This is a tunnel under the road next to a walk that is right in the middle of Hong Kong itself: 'the concrete jungle'. The paths that you can walk on are as peaceful and winding as you could imagine. This is under one of the busiest roadways leading up to the Peak. There is a waterfall through the tunnel in the rainy season, and I guess it is a sort of catchment, built many years ago. Just near is the Botanical Gardens which are a sight to see.

Tom, does Mitchell's greengrocers still exist in Hastings? They had two branches, one in town and one at St Leonards on the front I think.

She's a blue merle Sheltie and she's a dear.

My brother-in-law brushes her every evening, for twenty minutes/half an hour. It is their "quality time" and she won't let anybody else brush her.

First we lose a few calories by cycling over the hills. We put them back on by eating lunch in the park and then ending up here. A close look to the left of the trellis will partially reveal my brother standing by his bicycle.

That's uncanny Ren, before I saw it I thought it must be round here somewhere, and this is why.

This goes under the North Circular in Golders Green.

This could be titled "St. Paul's in the Cranes"! It is of course St. Paul's Cathedral, seen from the south bank of the Thames, with Blackfriars Bridge in the foreground.

I like these photos that show us the unexpected aspects of places. I was fascinated by the fog in Australia, and I love Ren’s pics of the quieter bits of Hong Kong.

I haven’t spotted a grocer’s with that name since I’ve been back down here. I’m racking my brains to see if I can recall them from my earlier years here.

We went for a drive in The County this afternoon. This is a portion of the Bay of Quinte, as seen from just across the road from the Lake on the Mountain.

Just one difference, though, David. There would not be any graffiti here . It is extremely rare here. The underground railway(MTR) and the overhead(KCR) are never touched by graffiti and are always squeaky clean and shiny, although many years old now. The local people are very proud of their buildings and wouldn't do it. I am usually quite shocked to see it in London as it seems to be worse now.
