I haven't ever watched Big Brother but since lots of people say it's good I thought I would this this time. Having said that, I've gone and missed the first episode. Does it get repeated? I'll have to try and remember next week.

there's an episode tonight at 11pm on Ch4 or if you have cable/satellite, it's on a lot on E4 - it's been on E4 live since 11.30pm last night and is aired until 3.30pm today!!! I've been watching them make their food list for the next week.

I just find it entertaining, but I think it's an acquired taste. Since you haven't seen it before, your best bet would be to catch it on Ch4, as they will summarise it all in to an hour episode - missing out what could be really uninteresting bits.

If you watch it tonight, it would be interesting to hear your views, especially as you have not seen the others.

What do you think of the contestants this time??? It's noticeable that none of the contestants are from Ireland or Wales. Some of the things that people will do to get on a t.v show!!! The vidios were very funny! I am interested to see how it unfolds. By the way, did you know that Helen from big brother 2 is the reporter for GMTV about big brother 3???? I haven't got E4 so will rely on Channel 4 and other reports.

I had my first look at Big Brother on CH.4 last night but not much was going on. I expect it's the kind of programme that gets a bit more involved as time goes on and the contestants get to know each other. Is that the case?

I'll watch next Friday's installment out of the corner of my eye, probably whilst tapping away at the computer keyboard.

| have been watching avidly this time, The first time there was no E4 live coverage and the second time, I missed the first half of the series as I was on holiday. So this time, I'm determined to get all the air play.

Any particular characters stick out for you at the moment?

From the replies, I think this must be a European Big Brother! I was worried there, for a minute, that I was missing something here in Canada! I don't THINK it's on right now...Someone on this side of the pond please tell me if I've been at FT so much that I'm missing Big Brother??? Thank you.

I have never understood the attraction of Big Brother, I've watched it a few times but never liked any of the people on it so never cared about them.

Amongst my friends I seem to be the odd one out. Is there anyone else out there who doesn't like Big Brother??

Last night I watched the highlights on Channel 4 and the funniest bit was when they did their own version of 'Jerry Springer' - it made me giggle a lot

I was gonna post something on this, but you have and I'm glad. I've been watching it on and off and so far here are my views:

Girls:
Adele - quite like her
Allyson - funny and a really nice girl
Lynne - I like her, bright, intelligent, funny - I can see her staying till the end
Kate - Seems quite likeable
Sunita - I hated her video, I think she's trying a bit hard to be hip, but she may grow on me
Jade - I absolutely cannot stand her. I hate the way she has to dominate every conversation and I think she's trying to "out thick" Helen

Jonny - Really funny and a sexy NE accent (and a fireman!!!!!)
Lee - Hated him at first, but he doesn't grate so much anymore
Sandy - A strange one, I really liked him, but I saw the "children" conversation live and he came across as a smug twat. He's one to watch.
Alex - My gay friend thinks he's gay, I don't like him
Spencer - I feel a bit sorry for him, he seems extremely at a loss
PJ - I dislike him intensely

All of the above will be subject to frequent change, except for Jade. She has stopped me watching so far as she shouts all the time and talks complete drivel. Did you know that bookmakers have stopped taking bets on her being the first evicted?

I shall look forward to our chats allynellie!! I'm a people watcher too, not in a prefessional capacity, just because I find it fascinating!

but really dislike patronizing Sunita ("I'm a barrister" every two minutes) - she should be evicted ASAP before i break my telly!!

in fact this year I find the girls are probably more intensely dislikeable than the blokes who all seem a bit bland at the moment ...

Sunita - Must go !
Jade - This years Helen - runs Sunita a close second.
PJ - Anyone who pretentiously uses their initials should be shot (a tad extreme perhaps)
Kate - can't put my finger on it but for some reason I just don't like her much either !!
Alex - far too worried about the missing sausages, clearly a stereotypically vacant male model!
Spencer - too quiet, think he's missing his mum ....
Sandy - Agree with amberg - the children thing put me off him somewhat. Start to feel he's a devious sod.
Lee - Thought he was a bit too bodybuilder but he's transpired to be mr.bland
Allyson - genuine & funny
Adele - bit quiet but looks like she fits in.
Lynne - When Jade & Sunita were arguing she was hilarious ....

Unfortunately i think the great British public will probably put Spencer & Jade up this week.

Got to watch the replay on Sunday which showed Friday night's entrance into the house.....Alex the model is a local lad, so I'm gonna support him as he lives about 10 minutes away from me....BUT...JADE !! Damn, that girl is so annoying that I reckon her friends put her up to enter Big Brother, just so they could have some peace and quiet. She will be the first one out of the house. As someone said earlier, she is trying too hard to be like Helen from BB2, only difference is that she is always shouting and trying to dictate the conversations !!

As for the rest of the group....The Geordie will do well, he seems a laugh !! Oh and the big lass who is into bandanas...she will probably be there until the end. Everyone else...haven't made my mind up yet...but I can't wait to see JADE kicked out and never to be heard again !!

HOORAH - at last, some people who understand me - I was beginning to feel a bit like a leper - thanks for the encouragement though tellywellies!!

Adele:I thought she was a bit canny at the start because she sat back and let everyone else do the talking. I think there will be some sort of surprise as she forgets the cameras are there.

Allyson:What an absolute hoot. She is so refreshing. I love her sense of humour. I think she will be the first to hook up - with Jonny or PJ (she spend a while in bed with PJ this morning). I think she will get to close to the end of BB before she is voted off.

Jade:She 'does my head in'. She just couldn't stop giggling and shouting on the first day - how irritating. I had her pegged to be the one that I would phone about ninety times to vote her off, BUT I think she came into her own when they were making the shopping list and she has been great at helping in the kitchen. I think however that she will be voted off first - Channel 4 haven't represented her well in their one hour summaries - just kept in all the airhead/giggle/shout bits, but not showed the other sides of her (helpful/practical) that I have seen on E4. She is also very young - only 20 and I think that explains why she has been so loud - I think it's just nerves and feeling homesick.

Kate:She comes from my hometown in Kent, so I suppose I will be offering her some support. She seems very confident and game to try anything, doesn't she?

Lynne:I like her, she has been quite quiet so far. I used to live in Aberdeen, so will support her. Unfortunately, I missed the bit when Jade and Sunita were fighting, so can you fill me in oleg_mcnoleg ?

Sunita:I agree amberg, I didn't like her video either - I think she 'misrepresented' herself but contradicted herself 'you either love me or hate me' and then 'I get on with anyone'.. eh?! She doesn't seem to be willing to participate in much - and that speech about Jade's age was ridiculous given that Sunita isn't that much older than Jade! I don't think she will be a very nice person, but I think I'd like to see how she develops - just for sport (Oh I'm so cruel!!).

Alex:I like him - I think he will be the heartthrob of them all. I haven't really picked up much about him, except for the model bit - I suspect that Davina is quite taken with him, isn't she?

Jonny:What a laugh he is! I think he's great and hope that he will stay on for a while longer. I think he has been quite tame and has been holding back the really naughty side of him - can't wait until it surfaces !!!

Lee:I think he's really sweet. He's been quite unassuming so far. I thought he was really kind when Jade was crying (last night..?) because she was feeling homesick. He said to her: 'It's alright to cry, we all do it sometimes'. Again however, this was misrepresented by Channel4, who made him sound like an idiot bodybuilder. I think he'll be really good at the challenges. I liked his video - imagine, stripping off in a field in January!!!

PJ:I'm not sure about him. He doesn't seem to be THAT nice really. I agree with you, oleg_mcnoleg, about his pretentiousness about his initials - and also in his video he just showed off a bit and I didn't even find him that impressive.

Sandy:amberg,oleg_mcnoleg I had never thought about that, but there are moments of arrogance coming through aren't there? He DOES seem to play the 'I'm just a humble personal shopper card who dresses famous people but I can't tell you their names' card a bit too much, doesn't he? Oooh I shall watch him carefully.

Spencer/Spank:I think he is feeling a bit lost and abandoned at sea - hence all the sleeping. I think it has been a bit of a culture shock for him - bless....

NOMINATIONS: Jade definately and then maybe Sunita or Spencer...?

Just spoken to a fellow BB addict in the office and she has voted for Spencer. I've voted 10 times for Jade(!!). Remember how Penny was practical last year and still was irritating! It is just the volume with Jade. I was watching at about 12.15 on Saturday night/Sunday morning and she had gone to bed and it was nice Spencer, Jonny, Sunita and Allyson just quiet and chatting. Then Jade and PJ got up and I just had to go to bed - headache!!

I do think Channel 4 are misrepresenting people. They've done it with Spencer and Sunita. They had a nice quiet chat the other night - she was quite caring saying are you OK, and he was just saying how he was having trouble coping with so many people all talking at once and about being kept in.

The bit with the sausages and Alex was just so petty - get a life lad!! And he was the one saying "We should all eat together" and then he went and made himself noodles and never offered anyone else.

When I saw Lee I just thought that he was just going to be doing the Personal Trainer thing the whole time, but he does actually seem quite genuine and unassuming.

I thought Allyson doing the aquarobics was very funny and Kate saying her horse wanted to marry her v. good too. They are the highlights so far.

They seem to have chosen summer birthdays again this year as they did last year.

Can you put your finger upon what it is that you don't like about Kate? I was trying to figure it out as she was sunbathing this afternoon. I can't find anything tangible, just a lingering suspicion that she knows that she is beautiful - but then that can't be a crime, can it?

Sunita really sits on the fringes of the group, doesn't she ? Today, they accused her of disapproving of them as they sat and sunworshipped and she sat in her long sleeves and long trousers in the garden - which I thought was quite a pertinent moment. I held my breath for the answer and she was non-commital and said that she hadn't realised she was doing so.

As for the misrepresentation, if you're all game, then we can pass on all the extra snippets of information to one another as we find them, eh?

Yep, we should all pass our snippets on. On the Ch4 website it said that one of Kate's pet hates was putting on weight which is quite telling. I don't actually dislike her - oleg mcnoleg doesn't.

I'm sitting on the fence a bit where Kate is concerned, and Sunita and Alex. Were they picking on her?

Apparently the girls were talking about who they fancied and Alison had dreamed she's kissed Alex, and Lee told Kate she had more than one admirer.

I caught some of what Alison was saying in her dreams, but keep missing chunks because of that irritating way in which the live transmissions are dubbed - I know they have signs up about 'foulmouthed housemates' but I am not convinced that that is the only reason why they dub the voices out!

Okay, I get your views about Kate, amberg. She is very fit, isn't she? How did you get the information about her on the website - I couldn't find it - do you have to pay £9.99 to get that info? I wasn't prepared to pay!

Oh no, they have just cut off the biggest bit of Adele's hair extensions !!! I really liked her hair!

What do you think about that thing that Adele does with her chest - yuck!!!!

I miss BB last night as we were watching 2 weeks worth of Auf Weidersehn Pet (which was brilliant - love Jimmy Naill).

Allynellie I won't put a link in (as it's a commercial site), but if you go to the Ch4 website (channel4.com) and then /bigbrother) you can get little snippets of info. on each contestant (the other thing Kate doesn't like is if it rains when she washes her hair - hmmm - I'm thinking self, self, self) and you don't have to pay. I wouldn't pay for the live link either!!

Morning all

well to fill you in amberg .... all of my watching is slightly cabbaged by watching E4's Little Brother - which is a day ahead of the C4 highlights - and having watched both i'm slightly confused!!

Top tip get access to satellite or cable & watch BB's Little Brother - better than the main show - more background info & very funny!

anyway ... The inmates had made a makeshift football - out of plastic bags & sellotape which BB duly confiscated. Alison also instigated a game in which they had to pair up and take up as many positions for sex as possible in 30 seconds (sunita refused to play - but she is a barrister and sooooo old) - Kate & Alex scored most but Alison & Sandy were the most hilarious!!

Whilst Spencer caught up on his sleep the rest of the group smothered him in toothpaste ....

Jade has made 9 trips to see BB whereas the rest are averaging about 4.

Other than it was the usual daily bits bread making etc etc which they all seem to be chipping in at ...

despite all that this lot appear to be enjoying themselves much more than the previous 2 years - plus with the removal of books & games they're putting together much more home entertainment than in previous years ...

anyway - still think Jade'll get the chop but she does appear to be calming down a bit ....

Jade is still on the books for the first eviction but I reckon Spencer is a close second.....that guy has no personality and all he seems to do is copy Sandy. Did anyone else notice when Sandy was twisting left and right on the breakfast bar chairs that Spencer was doing exactly the same !!

Kate did look good in a bikini and thank god Alison just jumped straight into the pool....

No one has any idea what Lynne and PJ are there for. But remember Elizabeth last year, so quiet and nice and kind, but behind peoples backs the knives were drawn. Well, she made the final 4.

oleg, I had noticed that Jade was a bit quieter when I looked in this morning - but it was 6.45 and she was sleeping!!

I like BBLB because of Dermot O'Leary anyway!!!

Heat magazine hates Jade!! I voted for her again this morning.

Did you see how Adele and Jade were bitching about Alison? I saw this on 'RI:SE' this morning, but also caught it on one of the BB programmes last night.

I fear amberg that Jade will only EVER be quiet when she's sleeping!

There was a sleazy article in 'The Daily Record' yesterday about Lynne up here in Scotland and the gen' is (if you are to believe the article that is....) that she is a bit of a loose-moraled woman and that her friends are expecting her to be walking around 'in the nip' and 'assaulting' the poor male contestants any day now !!

Spencer: I think he is just so overwhelmed by the whole experience, that he has gone into 'hibernation'.. The Psychologist on BBLB said that Spencer has just started to come through this apathy and will probably wake up any day now ...I await this momentous occasion with bated breath. Sypher, what think you?

Oh, allynellie, you can't leave me in suspense like that. What were they saying about Alison? Was it about her size?

I think one of the things I don't like about Kate most and Adele in some respects (and Lee) is that they are striving to achieve what tey think is perfect and obsessing about it, and you know that behind their smiles they are thinking "She's fat", "She's ugly". Women!!!! I'm ashamed to be one of them.

Their new task is to paint the dining room chairs apparently.

I've just read that Kate has been criticising someone else - Spencer. She calls him smelly. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

latest news i hear is that they've all been painting chairs to reflect there personalities .... my guess is that Spencer's is grey!!

Hadn't seen the bitching ... something to look forward to later i suppose !!
