New story here.

Having read so many terrible news stories about murdered,raped,mutilated and abused children and adults throughout my life it`s not often that one affects me to almost tears. This one has.

Our daughter is 3 so this story has become personal for me. I can well imagine the agony her parents are going though at this time. I would be nearly devastated and almost utterly gutted if the same thing happened to our little angel.

There are a number of aspects to this crime that have left me bewildered at the Portuguese legal system but all I can think at the moment is " GOD PLEASE LET HER BE FOUND ALIVE!!"
Even atheists ask god for help sometimes.

I just now heard breaking news on TV that Spanish police have arrested an Italian man in connection with Madelaine's disappearance. (1PM EST)

My fingers are crossed and I'm praying hard for the family that this is the good news they've been waiting for.

Now they are saying that a newspaper site in Spain is reporting that the man had tried to blackmail the McCann family into paying for info on Madeleine. Whether he really knows anything remains to be seen, I guess.
