Who do you think is the better superhero-Superman or Spider-Man? If they fought against one another, who would win?

Spider-Man would definitely win. He has more agility and ingenuity. He would outclass Superman every time.

I would want Spiderman to win, unfortunately he wouldn't. Spiderman is only a human that was given powers by a mutated spider. Superman is an alien and therefore has alien powers. The only way Spiderman could win is if he had some kryptonite with him. I hope he does when the fight starts.

lol, I am with you LJ...actually there was a comic published awhile ago where Superman and Spiderman fought to a draw....it was a joint venture by Marvels and Dc comics.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...surely you folks must be deluded. Superman would easily win in this fight. I think Spiderman's could lift approximately 15 tons at the maximum, while Superman could easily lift over 100 tons. Superman has cold breath and heat vision. He is practically invincible...Spiderman is merely a human with the proportional strength of a spider and a couple of web cartidges. I'm afraid Superman could easily defeat Spiderman.

As for who is a better superhero? Spiderman easily...who in hell wants to follow an invincible man like old Supes? Spidey has to fight using his cunning, agility and other such things...that's more interesting.

Actually Spidey and Superman did not face each other during that crossover.
I actually own that 8 series book arc.
DC fronted Superman against the appropriate Marvel heavyweight...The Hulk.
I can't remember who Spidey faced off with, my comics are buried under a ton of stuff.
although I do remember the DC dude he faced off against had a smart mouth, just like Spidey.

Yeah, Superman, super-strong, super-fast, invincible except for from Kryptonite, yeah, no contest. Better question would be BATMAN vs Spiderman, who would win? THAT would be a heckuva fight! My sentimental favorite would be Spiderman, I was always more of a Marvel fan, but as Jack Nicholson said about Batman "Where does he get all those nifty gadgets?" (Ok, my quote might not be perfect, don't string me up for it if it's not!)

Superman would VERY easily win against Spiderman. I agree with what thejazzkickazz said too. I would probably want Spiderman to win though even though he wouldn't unless he has some kryptonite on hand.
Spiderman and Batman.. thats kind of harder to decide.. I would think probably Spiderman would win that one.

Spiderman vs. Batman, hmm. That's a tough one. Although I do like Spiderman, I would want Batman to win. Batman has all sorts of gadgets to use. The problem is that Spiderman has his spider-sense that would warn him about danger. So I would have to say that Spiderman would most likely defeat Batman.

Of course we're talking about the best of 10 fights in these scenarios, right? After all...in at least one of those fights, Spidey could get a hold of kryptonite and hence neutralize Superman.

In the Batman vs. Spiderman match-up, Spidey would easily defeat the caped crusader. Spidey is stronger, quicker, more agile and has the invaluable Spidey sense. Batman is a mere mortal who must use his little gadgets in combination with his intellectual talents and his well-tuned physical skills. Unfortunately, these would not be enough to withstand Spiderman...who is also quick-witted and uses a fantastic weapon of his own, his webs. In a best of 10 I think Spidey would win 8, minimum.

Did anyone read the Secret Wars? Spidey whipped the entire group of X-men in one short battle...of course that could have been the Jim Shooter editorial bias for the sentimental favorite, but I do think Spidey could whip a whole superteam in open combat with a little luck.
