I love how diverse all the photos are, Africa, Hong Kong, Poland, England.

Here's a close up of the bale and the branding that's done to them. Our name up the top, then the classer's indentification, AAAM is the quality of the wool, it was the 106th bale and Landmark is the agent who we sell through.

So that's it! Shearing's finished. And just in time too, there was another inch of rain yesterday and everyone barely got out of here. There was five cars with two 4WD and they went in a convoy - can't wait to talk one of them to see how the trip went. I ran into town earlier in the day and the road was shockingly slippery. I had 4WD and it took me an hour and a half to get home for what is normally a half hour trip and there was more rain after that.

So now you all know more than you ever thought you would about shearing!

edit: oops sorry, forgot to resize.

I'm still seeing it large despite refreshing and all that. Is it normal size for everyone else?

It is just fine. Now do you do a little bit of spinning in your spare time, and knitting?

More healthy food today. This is a stall in the outside market. All the fruit you could imagine, and more.

This is a view from Witney Court...it's a ruin now but you can sure see why it was built where it was.

We had a fabulous day there.

This little chipmunk posed for me as I was walking along Wellington Street (a busy road) in Ottawa. He seems to live in a garden outside one of the many government buildings in that area.

Finally we arrived at Harnas - a rehabilitation/orphan center for wild animals. This is a picture of one of the lions just after they had been fed. He moved away, sat under the bush and 'posed' for us. Harnas has a website if you would like to find out more about them at www.harnas.com.

Great lion picture, and what a poser he is
Here's another image of Poland. The spectacular 13th century Malbork Castle is a Unesco world heritage site, and is the largest brickbuilt castle in the world. It's been the scene of many fierce conflicts, right up to WWII.

Wonderful pics all round.

Today's weather forecast is a chance of rain (though it looks OK at present), so I'm staying indoors and listening to the Test cricket commentary. This is another pic from Smallhythe yesterday - the old barn where they sometimes put on small-scale theatrical performances in memory of Ellen Terry.

What a handsome chap he sure knows he is Lady1. How wondeful to have the opportunity to be so close to a real lion, i'm envious.

Can't wait to see more pics from your visit

Life is just a bowl of cherries ...or raspberries in our case. Picked from the bushes in our garden:

Amazing, you can see the hairs on the fruit.

I have just filled in the form (and posted it) for a course in digital photography at the local College of Further Education. I hope I get a place.

Yes,Sue , that will be great if you get a place.
Here is a strange thing. I think they grow the tree roots over the pot and then break it.

My Fridays are becoming 'Do my mum's garden' days, and here is some more of my gardening work.

Lady1, that big pussycat reminds me of my Lucy! (I'll have to add one of her next now).

This giant spider is in front of the National Gallery in Ottawa. To the left of the photo, where the flag is, you can just see the Peacekeeping Memorial.

That would freak me out every time I walked past it, Liz!

Today, we so very nearly got bogged. We were more or less going sideways when I took this photo. And wasn't the other half happy I had the camera there to document the occasion.

There are only so many places on each course and they are awarded on a first come, first serve basis. I would imagine the class will not be more than about twenty places, perhaps far less than that.

I have given a second choice and don't really mind which I get. They have five different digital photography courses, some are five weeks, some ten or eleven weeks.

I have just looked at the prospectus and they have courses on virtually everything.

Good luck Sue hope you get in.
Copago I would be afraid of getting stuck and having to get out of the vehicle in that mud! Ugh!
Jar if that is what came out of your neighbours garage, I wonder whats still in there. Lol

This young lady was more interested in her food than posing for us. She has such a beautiful face. Her male companion (in her inclosure) keeps escaping and going to visit his brother, so she was all alone. At night we lay awake listening to the lions roar. It was such a special treat.

Jillian, your roads may be unmade and deep in mud but I bet they're nearly all straight. But I will concede we can navigate ours more easily although the bends do slow us down a bit.
As I'm almost certain I added Lucy in a previous month here is what could pass for a typical cottage garden in Golders Green.

The name I cut off by accident at the bottom reads BROOKSIDE ROAD and is one of the early cast-iron jobs which for some reason is in perfect condition. There aren't many left now and most are rusty. They only recently took away our old wooden ones which were there before I was born.
