Ok, I have two rose bushes that I planted last spring. The lady at the greenhouse told me to feed the roses when I planted them and then once a month. I planted one and fed it as she told me, but I let my husband plant the other one. He didn't feed it because he insisted that it didn't need it since he was using potting soil. Well, I treated both plants the same last year and fed them periodically, though I haven't fed them at all this year.
The problem is that the one that my husband planted doesn't get very big or bloom very much. Last year before I cut them back in the fall, the one I planted grew to be about as tall as I am (5 feet 6 inches), but the one he planted didn't even get half that tall. Needless to say, this year so far has been the exact same, the one bush is tall and beautiful while the other is short and rather sad.
What can I do, if anything, for the one bush to help it out?
