Psst, Sandalwood...I think you mean JOHN Grisham (Right?)?

Haven't read Grisham since "The Rainmaker", but will read about anything he writes. What's the latest title(s) after Rainmaker?

Tee Hee,
Gunslinger your are right. I use to date a man by the name of Tom Grisham, I guess my mind wandered. Sorry. I would have to really concentrate on that one. I didn't care for his last book I know that. I read about 3 novels a week and todate I have a hard time remembering which ones I have read. I thought since he was a popular author it would be a good topic.

Tom?,Tom?, alright john, much better.
attention sandlewood and gunslinger, john grisham's latest book is, The Testament, and I quote,"Troy Phelan is a self-made billionare, one of the richest men in the United States.
He is also eccentric, reclusive, confined to a wheelchair, and looking for a way to die.
His heirs, to no ones surprise - especiallyTroy's - are circling like vultures."
This all I'm going to tell you you'll just have to beg, borrow,
or stesl a copy to find out about it,however I will ensure you, you will enjoy it's shock ending. He also wrote
A Time to Kill, The Firm, The Pelican Brief, The Client, The Chamber, The Rainmaker, The Runaway Jury, The Partner, and The Street Lawyer.
I hope this helps you out it appears Mr. Grisham likes to write books with titles beginning with "THE", SO, READ ON AND ENJOY

Thank you DragonSavor. It was the Ran away Jury that I did not care much for. I would say that A time to kill, The client and and The Street Lawyer were my favorites so far. I will go get The Testament sometime this week. What was your favorite so far?

My favourite? It's a toss-up between 'The Pelicans Briefs' and 'The Testament' I can't decide, mainly because testament is fresher in mt mind I suppose.
Any'ow you read and enjoy.

I tend towards The Chamber and A Time to Kill as my favorites. Also The Rainmaker has a lot of heart. What I generally don't like are his endings...too cynical. The protagonist is always compromised or gives up after his big "win". Why can't Grisham provide a happy ending like he's had in his own life? The Lawyer CAN have something GOOD come out of his trials. Why not?

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Runaway Jury

So far I have to say I like it! This is my first Grisham novel. It's not too long and a little humorous. Maybe I'll have to try another.

Shuttlebunny, You are going to have to tell me how it ended. I couldn't get into it and never finished it. Which is rare for me, but I had three other books to read so I could get them back to the library. If you like this book. I think you will love "A Time To Kill", I think it is my favorite. But, I can't find his new one out on the shelves, so I can't say yet.

Enjoy your reading!!!

I think The Street Lawyer is probably the best one so far (but it does get to be a bit too Hollywood movie-plot type in parts -- if you get what I mean). I bought The Testament the other day, so I'll get round to that in time.

Sorry sandalwood, I finished this one long ago and got lost in the community forums ever since!

I'd have to say that overall I really liked the book, but like so many I've read lately it seems like the story was great but the ending seemed like the author rushed to the end. Lots of mystery up until the last 50 pages and then, BAM!, it's over.

Shuttlebunny, read Angela's Ashes. I think you will like that one!!

I am borrowing the Testament from my sister this week. She said that she thought it was so-so. We both think that A Time To Kill has been his best.

I liked A Time to Kill the best. It was also a very good movie. I didn't care for The Chamber or The Street Lawyer.

I finished the Testament and I enjoyed the book. My sister said that it bored her, but I found it easy reading and interesting. I didn't find it boring at all. It held my interest and was suprised by the ending.

Anyone else have an opinion.

Fay, I would suggest that you read it. It shouldn't take long to read.

Well I finished The Testament the other day, and I have to say that I don't think it's one of his best ones - all the characters are like walking sterotypes, and the plot doesn't seem to work properly - the jungle stuff is all adventure novel-esqe, and then he returns home to a (sub)standard Grisham courtroom scene.
Just my two cents!

Yes, all his charaters are that way. I liked that the woman died and he did not run off with her and her millions!

I spotted a brand new one in the book department on Friday, no I can't remember the title Just waiting for it to be published in paperback and I will be buying it.

I rarely buy hard back books, those I do are not for reading, I have them in paperback for that just in case they get dropped in the bath I have some authors in hard back, first editions, to keep in pristine condition.

I was wondering what grisham fans thought about "the firm."

That is the only one of his books that i read and i didn't really care for it at all.

I am curios if anybody else disliked that book but enjoys his others? If yes, maybe i will give him another shot.

I think it is the Brothen Sue, or something real close to that spelling. I haven't picked it up yet.

Grishams new book is titled
The Brethern. Just released the first of this month, I've already have it on hold at the library.

A Time To Kill and The Firm were my favorites.

The Testament is best forgotten his worst work to date.
