Has anyone read these books.
My mother had the complete set and I read them all as a kid. I believe there's 8 or 9 volumes.
I find it interesting when authors weave fiction into real history.
Kind of like what was done in Forrest Gump.
I stumbled across the collection recently and decided to read through it again.

I also stumbled across one of John Jakes' novels recently (of course the title has vanished from my head now). This book had been at my dad's house ever since I can remember and the last time I went home I picked it up and I could not put it down! It was surprisingly well-written! I say surprsingly only because Dad and I don't have the same taste in books, not to say anything disparaging about the author. I loved the historical setting. It was about the Civil War, which is interesting to me anyway, but it's the only book I read. I don't know if it was in the Kent Family Chronicles or, if it is, if I started with the right book or not. Can you tell me the names of the books? If you can't remember alll of them, maybe just one or two titles? I have been looking for a new author. I have my favorites and I've read all their books already. I'm floundering without a new author. Thanks, Leprechaun!
