Welcome to the July photo thread, now in a more prominent place. This has come about because of the interest the photos have created. Well done to all. Keep them coming. If anyone needs information on how to post photos, it can be found in the 'Photo posting guide' located at the top of the forum.

Would it be possible to unlock the June thread? It's still only Saturday afternoon here, and I haven't even taken today's photo yet.

The change of the month is a kind of arbitrary point for starting a new thread. I try to make the changeover time around early morning in Australia where the 1st of the month has already started.

I suppose we could equally well start a new thread every 10 pages of photos, or even change it every two weeks. Changing at all could be viewed as just a way of breaking up the number of pages a photo thread goes up to.

The turn of the month seems to be a good point to choose but perhaps don't take it too exactly. The best thing to do where the 1st of the month hasn't arrived yet is to still keep posting one photo a day regardless of the date.

Couldn't we use FT time, the way the tipping comps do? I'm super careful not to post more than one photo a day, so if I post here, I'll feel like I've already posted for July 1st - and being Canadian, I was hoping to have something a bit special for Canada Day, not the rather humdrum thing I had in mind for 30th June.

OK, just for you I'll unlock the June thread for an hour or so. It'll be coming up for bedtime for me after that and I'm sure you wouldn't want me to lose my beauty sleep .

I've always thought of the "day" as running from midnight to midnight by Greenwich Mean Time/British Summer Time, and I think there are still about nine minutes left of today.

This is one of London's oldest established wine bars, "El Vino's" in Fleet Street.

I am sure there is every sort of orchid that exists in that shop.

Shhhhh, be very quiet, don't want to frighten away the fairy in my garden.



Actually it's more of Mrs. Argus's ceramic handiwork. She decided a little whimsy in the garden would be nice.

There hasn't been much worth photographing lately and the weather has been awful. Time to show a few from earlier I think.

We used to spend much time in the island of Jersey. I took loads of photos during those years. This photo of Grosnez Castle (14th century) was always one of my favourites. I used to walk along the cliff tops of St Ouen's Bay before breakfast every morning to reach it.

An original stained glass window in one of our local churches. The style is described as 'pre-Raphaelite'.

Snap!

Definitely snap! There's lots of spectacular and wild scenery at that end of the island. I took that one on a 35mm camera, so the photo is a scanned in print. I remember taking a few photos on that particular morning because the light was really good (it was around 6-30 to 7-00 a.m). There's one showing some clouds that I might try and find.

This is my study where I sit right now, visiting FunTrivia and neglecting my chores!

Thanks TW for the kind words, Mrs. Argus is blushing. Here's a photo of our Honeysuckle with a small fountain. The vines are almost meeting at the top and lots of flowers this year. No hummingbirds yet but we're hopeful.

What happened was that you copied the top address of the four options, instead of the bottom one. The top one is to share your album, the bottom one is the one which includes the image tags.

Why I avoid the North Circular road after 4pm. This is one end which extends well over a mile to the left. This is taken from the footbridge at the Brent Bridge junction where the last one was taken yesterday.

Canada Day lunch-time barbecue at my sister's. That's me, my Mum and my sister, about to devour homemade burgers courtesy of my brother-in-law (who took the photo, at my request ). Note the patriotic wearing of red items of clothing and also the jackets, due to the cool breeze and threat of rain! In the background there's a softball game going on, and on the right a Canadian flag flying in the neighbour's garden. Happy Canada Day!

I seem to be posting nothing but shopfronts at present. This mock-up of a Victorian kitchen is part of the window display of a bakery in Hastings Old Town, which has been supplying excellent bread and pastries since 1826.

Horrible weather and I haven't been out. I seem to have been posting a lot of orchid pics lately so I won't. Here is another shot of the lean, mean fighting machine from the Tai Kwando class next door.

Thanks Sue and Picqero for your help. I tried cutting and pasting several times last night but it didn't work for me so I assumed maybe the fault was with Photobucket.

With respect to the four options, I have always used the top one (Share URL) in the past with Funtrivia's Image UBB code. This is the first time I have had a problem. However, next time I will try the bottom one and see how I go.

Saw these birds while on a boat ride thru the estuary here. They are called oyster catchers.
