O.k. guys, I´m finally going to do it!!!
I´ve had this book on my shelf for THE longest time and it´s about time I get to it, but I need your help.

Any feedback you could give me on
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
would be much appreciated

Is it heavy?
Did you like it?
Did you want to burn it? lol

I haven't read the book, but I did see the movie (directed By Kubrick)--it was very disturbing.

Yeap, I´m getting the feeling it is...gulp.

I´m in Ch.1 and am already having a hard time decyphering the language used!!!

The book I have is the one which includes the final chapter, 21....apparently, the version that came out in the US is the one that Kubrick based his film upon even though it was missing that final chapter.
I´ll have to read the book, then see the movie, and then compare to see if there´s much of a difference.

So the general concensus is "weird & disturbing", eh? lol
Guess I´m in for quite a ride then...

Thanks guys!

Having read the book and seen the film I have to say that both are as equally disturbing as each other.
Even more disturbing is the fact that being in the job I'm in I have noticed that, albeit moderate, Burgess was quite prophetic in his views.

I would advise anybody reading the book to forget the English language and read it as it is written.

As for the book being 'cool' - fraid not.

Cheers PJ (on the beat)
