Harry didn't become Quidditch captain until his 6th year. Angelina was captain this year.
I saw the movie this morning a I thought it was a lot better than the previous movies. I was surprised at how well they did about brining in the necessary information. I was really mad in the fourth movie when they didn't really talk about Neville's parents.
Speaking of Neville, did it look like they were setting up for Neville and Luna to get together? I thought so.

Whoops, sorry, my bad. It's been a while since I've read the books and when I tried to read them I discovered that mum had kidnapped them for her holiday.

I didn't really think so. At the end when Luna is looking for her shoes it looks more as though her and Harry were going to get together. Not that happens though, but they were just my immediate thoughts when I saw it.

What a great great film! Oooh I did enjoy it so much. I really want to see it again and that does not usually happen with me. The special effects of this one are truly superb in my opinion. I came away feeling so very glad that all the characters have been played by the same actors in every one(except Dumbledore) That , I think, has helped to ensure their success.

I was really happy to see how well they handled Neville's parents' situation, seeing as they didn't have the St. Mungo's scene (Neville is one of my favorite characters, so I was actually quite impressed with Matthew Lewis).
I've just finished rereading the fifth book and there are some things I'm actually glad they left out, and let m,e tell you, that doesn't often happen when I watch those movies. This is by far my favorite.
Oh! And how did everyone like Umbridge? A friend of mine swore at the movie screen every time she spoke. . . . I think he was being a little over-dramatic, but (Imelda Stevens?) did a very good job.

Imelda Staunton. Brilliant. Everything she does is so polished, and her timing is superb. The perfect actor for that part, I think.

I was amazed at how close they got her character to the book Umbridge. Wow. I really hope I get to see the movie again.

The one thing I think they should've put in was Harry's magical communicating hand-mirror that Sirius gave Harry in the 5th book. Sorry but I think that might be important. Other than that I thought it was good.

Saw HP5 this morning and what a serious let-down. As usual all the hype and nonsense is being banded around "It's the best Potter yet and much darker than the previous films" and so on and so forth. Well it didn't work for me this time. I understand that the film makers have a difficult job due to the fact the book contained nearly 800 pages, so much had to be left out, and I noticed some very awkward editing moments during the film where big chunks have been cut out to keep the film at a reasonable length ( about 2hrs 15 mins ). For any of the poor souls who have not read the book, then take someone with you who has then they can explain the plot to you. It really is a bit of a mess and in a few scenes even a bit dull and incredibly Potter's arch-enemy Malfoy only has 2 or 3 lines in the whole film.
Please Fun-Trivvers, enjoy the film by all means but don't get sucked in by all the hype. I walked out of the cinema ( and I watched it on an IMAX screen ) feeling deflated and a little bit cheated by the whole film. Still, each to their own.

I was glad, actually, that they left out the two-way mirror, only because I feel like that was the most painful part of the book.
I understand that the movie cut out a lot of things (I had to explain the entire movie to a friend of mine who had never read the books), but they did it tastefully. I do wish they had Peeves in these movies, but we can't have it all, I guess.

They two way mirror doesn't play that much part does it? except for when Harry gets it out to try and talk to Sirius after his death. That would have been good to put in, it would've added more emotion to the movie. I absolutely loved Umbridge's character as well. I have heard several citics that think it is the worst movie so far, I have to say I almost swore at the critics.

Im sorry you felt that way Chris, but i have to ask why bother seeing the movie if you know from reading the book it wont be anywhere near as good?I havent read any of the books but really enjoy the movies,as for the latest ,it was fantastic as usual!I wouldnt reccomend kids under 10 seeing it at the movies unless they have seen the others,as it does get darker as it goes on.I believe the saying, referring to Harry and Voldemort "Neither can live while the other exists" is a giveaway as to who the two main characters are who die.

Pretty good. In fact, I think it's the best out of the five. The new director seems to have been an improvement and I'm glad that he's signed on for number six also. The acting has gone up a notch and I think the writing was much better for the actors to work with. Plenty of special effects which were brilliant!
As a reader of the books, I could understand all the names mentioned and terms used, but it might've been confusing for film-only fans. As OOTP is the largest of the series, the film overall felt a bit lacking in certain areas, but I think the main concepts of the story were covered and they did that well.
I was waiting for the two-way mirror too. As J.D. mentioned, I think it'll be important in the seventh book and leaving it out might cause plot holes for later films. One of my pet peeves in Goblet of Fire (amongst many) was how they did Sirius talking in the fireplace. They've fixed it up in this one and it looks much better - like how I imagined it. The dementors were a bit weird though.

Yes, they were. In the third film they had the dark hooded cloaks and were much more akin to Tolkien's ringwraiths in Lord of the Rings, whereas in this one they look like skeletons. =\

I'm another one that didn't think the movie was as good as the others. But again, it just comes down to the fact that they had to cut so much. However, the movie wasn't even 2 1/2 hours, it was a little less. I think they could have added another 5 minutes or so and made some better transitions, and it would have been better. Oh well, it was still good. I can say with pretty fair certainty that I would have been lost if I had not read the book.
I wish they would have put the scene in where McGonagall and Umbridge have their argument when Potter goes in for his career advice. But I guess it doesn't have much to do with the needed information as far as the rest of the movie.
Umbridge's character was pretty much spot-on. However, Luna's movie character needed to be a bit weirder. I think the actress choice was excellent, but I don't think she was as "weird" as she could have been to get it close to the book Luna.

I saw it two times. But did they even mention that the prophecy could have been about Neville? I mean, I loved it, but not too much. It's good, but the the third and fourth movie are still the best. I liked this movie a lot, but only because it was the funniest.

It was OK! I liked the other movies better! I think this one was too short compared to the book. I mean it is like the thickest book in the series, and the movie seemed way too short. But it was still a good movie! I enjoied it!
