There must be a way of doing this but my post-stroke brain won't let me work it out so I am appealing for help... Martin? Anyone?

I want to be able to put a number of jpg images on one sheet of A4 so as to conserve paper when printing. I am sure it is possible but I am not sure how. I have lots of software to choose from: MS Publisher, Presto! Photo 3, Xara, Photoplus 7 and the one which is my default, Paint shop Pro 9.

So please take pity on me and put it in words of one syllabul.

I only use Microsoft Picture it! Photo Standard and all I do is open up a blank page then copy and paste the images onto it then you can move them around, make them bigger and smaller however you want. Is that what you mean?

Also that programme which was just the cheapie that came with the computer will let you print in lots of various ways. If you choose "print multiple photos" it will give you lots of options to use with the photos you already have open in that programme. One big two small/three small/ 2 big/ countless ways really.

Hmm, I don't have that one. That sounds as if it is what I want to do. I have all these images on the CD (see ebay thread) and want to econimise on card by printing a number of images at the same time. So far I have printed off a few as photos but that costs me about 35p each and that is costly.

Although other programs can be used we both have Xara Xtreme, so I'll describe a way of doing it in that:-

* Open a new A4 size piece of paper (File > New.. A4 Landscape or Portrait'>.

* Go to 'Import' in the File Menu.

* Browse through to the images on the CD.

* Choose the 'Thumbnails' option in the 'Import File' box's View Menu (button at top).

* Select the image you want to import and click 'Open'. The image will appear. It may not be on the paper but you can drag it into position later.

* Repeat the procedure for each image wanted.

------------------------------------

* Images can be moved by clicking on them. Hold the mouse button down and drag them about.

* They can be resized by dragging on the 'handles' (small black squares around the image).

* Click once (and release) on the image and the black squares change into arrows. The image can then be rotated. This is sometimes handy for fitting more images on the paper.

* There's a little padlock button in the top toolbar. Make sure it is pressed in before doing any resizing. This keeps the height and width of the image in proportion as the 'handles' are dragged.

There are other ways such as the copying/pasting method mentioned by Copago but importing should also be OK.

One more way Sue if you happen to have MS Office. I have a friend that uses Power Point. Just cut and past the pics onto a slide. I would suggest, however, that you resize in a different program as simply enlarging will distort the picture. But I'm sure you know that already. I now need to check out Xara Xtreme!

Xara Xtreme is primarily a vector drawing program capable of a great deal more than I could ever use it for. Amongst other things, it's good for making greetings cards inserts. I don't think it's particularly the sort of program you'd get for doing the operation Sue is describing. It's just that, being a versatile program, it can do it. I sometimes use it for this.

Hmmm, Xara won't open, I am getting Internal program error 263.w.bf.lu

denni19 also gave me a way of doing it in Paint Shop Pro which worked until I tried to print then it had problems with the size to I might need to change the resolution to make the files smaller.

Thank you all.

I don't know what that error message means Sue but perhaps reinstalling Xara Xtreme would make it work.

Sue, out of curiosity I just googled 263.w.bf.lu, and your post was the only link which came up. It's not often you can google something and get only one result
