I have only recently started writing quizzes, and none of my 3 quizzes are ranked as yet, but I am very pleased with the feedback on my "Resistor Colour Code" quiz.

That was a very good quiz, mate. Glad to have you on board.
Along those lines, I think your three quizzes (the above on electrical engineering and the other two on Cardiff) really do underscore elements in common to many if not most successful quizzes - write about something that is close to your heart, and write about something that many of those taking the quiz will also feel very strongly about. I think these two things are true about most of the quizzes in this thread.
Conversely, they're certainly NOT true about most of the quizzes that struggle. Very often, when I edit very sparse quizzes that I have to send back, the quizmaker protests that they can't think of any interesting information for their questions. If you can't find interesting information for ten questions, you don't feel strongly about the topic, and you really can't expect anyone else to, either.

My highest rated quiz is currently "Left Behind: Armageddon" - Rank: 145 Ratings: 23 Good & Excellents: 22 (96%) Exc: 10 (43%), Good: 12 (52%) It's really interesting to watch the ratings, though. They can be very surprising. I personally wouldn't have selected my 'Armageddon' quiz as the best of my quizzes, but I'm not complaining!

I only have 9 quizzes online, so I thought I would post a little table of my results. Only two have met the requisite time online standard for gaining a rating. ratings played % rated g&e % 23 180 13% 91 19 144 13% 89 18 117 15% 83 8 75 11% 88 20 105 19% 80 17 126 13% 47 14 90 16% 71 22 147 15% 91 533 37 294 13% 84 2532 I appended my meager ratings to the last two entries. Congratulations to all of you who have written such well received quizzes!

For a dizzy couple of weeks a few years ago, my "Orchestras of the World" quiz was No 1 overall. But I think the rating system has been refined a bit since then!
My current leader is my recent "Spaced" quiz: Rank - 28 Ratings: 21 G&E 18 (86%) - E 11 (52%); - G 7 (33%)

Just quoting from the Forum Rules which you will find under FAQ - Quote:

The initial post in this thread didn't ask for quizzes to be named.

Hi there everyone, can you guys please write down the statistics detail for your highest rated quiz? It would be interesting to compare and see what rating would make a quiz to get the sunnies. Thanks. Let me start off with mine:
Rank: 1293 Ratings: 23 Good & Excellents: 21 (91%) Exc: 8 (35%), Good: 13 (57%)

It is always nice when after a period of all my quizzes slipping in the rankings, something happens, and they all seem to be shifted up the table again drastically. Can this happen soon please ! Matt, congratulations on that, I hope it stays thatr way!

One of mine has similar ratings to Matt's above: Ratings: 11 Good & Excellents: 11 (100%) Exc: 7 (64%), Good: 4 (36%) Now for the bad news - it's been on line since August and has been stuck there for ages ;-(

but think how excited you'll be on the "Glorious Day" when it pops up ranked QB - I have one on 18 and one on 19, both been o/l for ages, but they have crept up one rating every so often and it's another thing to look out for on a Monday, for when they get that 20th one - always a nice surprise.
