I'm not too sure how well this movie will turn out. I guess if JJ Abrams is working on it, it should be alright. And if Nimoy's making an appearance it should have a good, old series feel to it.

I'm afraid, because if it is bad, it could be bad! You know what I mean?

I have only liked the Whale one and the First Warp one. Both had time travel and nice humour.

Ok, I'm bumping this up because I saw the new Star Trek movie a few days ago and I have to say that I thought it was great! I got so wrapped up in the movie that for awhile there I was really believing that this was Spock and Kirk when they were younger. Silly, I know, but I've always been a Trekkie, especially the Original and TNG. Did anyone else see the new film?

Yep, loved it! I thought everyone was very well cast, and I liked how they sort of "channeled" the original actors without actually imitating them. Nice work.

I saw it and am still trying to decide if I liked it or not.

As a stand-alone movie, I liked it. However, as part of the ST universe, I didn't like it because it doesn't really fit with the ST universe (how easy it would have been to explain that the actions in the movie restore the timeline) AND because I found it so unlike ST to explain that Kirk went from not having yet graduated from the Academy to being made captain of the Enterprise.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this movie. I never had high hopes for it but I think it was extremely good. I am quite pleased that it ends up being a different timeline than the original timeline as I think that that leaves for more interesting possibilities open for any further movie.

I saw the movie recently, fairly much liked it with one exception. I did not care for the romantic interest with Spock. I think they put too much "humanism" into Spock. I felt he should have been more "Vulcan." (more logical, less emotional)

Not real sure I like the "new" Kirk. He seemed too old for the part, to me. Definitely liked Bones!

I think I'll take a 'wait and see' attitude when subsequent Star Trek movies come out.

Yes, I recently saw it too - and really liked it. Great to spend some time with these folks again!

One thing that kept bugging me, though -and this is really goofy - was on the numerous big screen close-ups of the two Spocks, I just kept being riveted to Nimoy's flashy dental veneers and Quinto's serious underbite.
