My current signature is a quote from Erica Jong: "You see a lot of smart guys with dumb women, but you hardly ever see a smart woman with a dumb guy."

I like it! I may change it sometime in the near future though.

My current one is in my top 10 favourite quotes.

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." ~ Mother Teresa

I find it very suited as in 45 years of life I was honoured with a lot of "trust" and "handling" .

My current quote has to do with racing's greatest filly, Ruffian:

"In 1972, a horse was born who proved that girls can be ruffians, too." ~ Ruffian: The Great Match Race - Gerry Luckacik

The quote comes from a song entitled "Ruffian: The Great Match Race" and I made this my quote in honor of Ruffian.

Thank you, ClaraSue! It is good to know I'm not alone. I've gotten used to the weird looks...and those closest to me have stopped asking me for an explanation.

Having struggled for years to try and explain what satguru means I read it again in a book so that is now a part of my profile so everyone knows exactly what it is. I can't rely on everyone to look in the screen name thread and now I don't have to!

"The only guru you will ever need is the infinite wisdom of satguru, who is your own true nature, your essence and your identity sometime soon"

I saw Satyam Nadeen 10 years ago, and although I disagree with his idea you can't do anything to become enlightened, his actual description of the whole things seems to work for me in theory. Let me know if I'm not allowed to use a link there as I'm not quite sure.

"There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few that will catch your heart....pursue those" is my current signature. I copied it from a plaque at the hospice where my sister was staying.

It just seemed to say what I was feeling at the time. And I just realized there was a typing error (hopefully I've corrected it before you read it)

My current signiature is a Gerard Way quote, except i cut it out a bit, because it actually had a bit of swearing in it!

Mine is 'Easy, Peasy, Pumkin Peasy, Pumpkin Pie'

The real quote is- 'This s**t is Easy, Peasy, Pumpkin Peasy, Pumpkin Pie, Mother F**ker'

So i just cut the other parts out!

But i will change my signiature quote alot, and you can guarantee that it will either be a quote from Gerard or one of the other boys from MCR, or lyrics to one of MCR's songs!

I am pretty new to this forum, so this is the only signature I have had. I chose it because I believe laughter is the best medicine when dealing with adversity, and motivation is important for success.

I've been considering changing my signature to "The best excercise for the heart is reaching down and lifting someone up."

I saw it in a school billboard that my bus travels past.

I tend to change my signature only rarely, and then it has to be something that either amuses me, or reflects my outlook on life. My current one is:

Reality is an illusion brought about by lack of alcohol

Would the last person to leave the planet please turn off the lights.

My current signature is "A ray of light into a room that's remained dark for a thousand years dissolves a thousand years of darkness"

I love this quote. It is of particular value to me because it signifies the beginning of my research into Buddhism. I found it on a website as I was beginning to do learn about Buddhism and I instantly fell in love.

Good times.

Mine is simply the caption of my avatar photograph here. Husband took the picture last year from our campsite which we also used about a month ago. I must love the place a lot because I dreamed I visited there last night with my *mother* who passed away years ago, and went skin diving with blue and yellow "Dori" surgeonfish. I guess I wanted to share the beauties of coral reef fish with her.
So there you have it.. avatar and signature are about places I love and such places are always best when shared with loved ones.

I did have "One of the most striking differences between a cat and a lie is that a cat has only nine lives."-Mark Twain. That has always been a favorite quote of mine, but I recently changed to my current one, by Richard Bach, which is below. I love his book "ILLUSIONS The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" because of all the insights throughout it about life and what is really important. I am going through a very difficult time in my life right now and this site has kept me sane. Whatever 'sanity' is at the moment. There are a lot of you that have helped me immensely and don't even know it. I may not always post, but I read through just about everything on here. You make me laugh and cry and just feel human when I get glimpses of your own lives. I thought my current signature was so appropriate because I DO feel like I have a "family" here and I think you are stuck with me, whether you like it or not! Sandy

Mine, which is, "The way to get things done is not to mind who gets the credit for doing them," is a quote by Benjamin Jowett. When I saw it last September, I was in agreement with the statement, as I feel it really doesn't matter who gets credit for things, as long as it works better for the common good.

I've had "Next time you think you are perfect, try walking on water," which is around my car's license plate.

My signature, " O Lord, Thou knowest how busy I must be this day. If I forget Thee, do not Thou forget me." is taken from the prayer of Sir Jacob Astley before the Battle of Edgehill in 1642, during the English Civil War.
I like it, and have never changed it because it pretty much sums up my lifestyle - I never seem to have enough time to do everything I should do or want to! It also relates well to my active interest in re-enactment, particularly the English Civil War.
Sir Jacob Astley was a Royalist General, who for a time commanded the infantry. There's a brief but good account of his life at Astley

Got my current signature from reading the Jim Morrison book "No One Gets Out Alive". Felt it fit me pretty well!

If you don't copy and paste your current signature your posts will not make sense should you change your signature at some time in the future. Hence the following quote from my first post...

Quote:

After noticing that one of our ladies has an interesting new signature I thought we could post our current ones here as as it could differ shortly when people want a change. So copy and paste your current one for us.

JUST for Sue ,

["The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom."

Delboy, should be OK on the heart attack, though. Although I probably do need to watch out on those Sparks energy drinks. Cholesterol level of 146, resting pulse of 42, blood pressure somewhere around 105/78, something like that. Not in too bad shape. Excess can be snowboarding, basketball, surfing, reading, this Site, many different things!

If you read from the beginning of the thread you will see that quite a few people have changed their signatures since posting, some haven't copied and pasted so we won't know if they changed or not.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, excuse me for not reading every single post on the thread, just used the quick reply function.
