Took this photo of a deer from my bedroom window this morning, at the other side of our drive. The oak tree behind, is the one we planted over my fathers ashes, after he died 16 years ago.

Nice one, satguru. I like the statue, tellywellies. I must re-acquaint myself with Baron Münchhausen’s tales soon. The boy David, with Goliath’s head at his feet, looks down on Chelsea Embankment in London. His statue is the World War I memorial to the Machine Gun Corps.

Wow!! What a slide Copago. I hope Conner has fun on that, but it looks pretty high. Do you have a big pillow to put at the bottom. Everyone's photos are so good, this thread really makes my day. Here's a photo from a cruise we went on. Our room attendant make this little fellow from our towels and my sunglasses.

This is Luigi, the harpy eagle. He lives at the Peregrine Foundation headquarters at Clayton, Panama. This is the national bird of Panama. Harpy Eagles are huge. This bird's talons were bigger and thicker than my fingers. He wasn't too happy with me snapping his pic. I took my new Sony HDD video/still camera on this trip. I am not thrilled with the quality of the still shots. I left my Canon Rebel at home as it gets heavy with the telephoto lens. I regret that decision now.

The story of Whampoa Docks, Hong Kong is a long and interesting one, it is even mentioned in Clavell's "Noble House" It is no longer a dockyard, but a private Housing Estate, with many shopping malls (of course). One of the shopping malls is inside this huge concrete ship, called The Whampoa. It is a famous landmark now.

Jillian, we call that a slide, never heard your term for it. My poor old cat is getting faddy about food so to spoil him (at nineteen he needs it) I buy different luxury treats for him to try. Today I gave him this new one, at vast expense, and you can see the results here. I suspect he is telling me that he doesn't like peas!

What a beautiful bicycle, Liz! And I love the pictures of the doggies. "The Hooligans" and Phoebe are beautiful Argus, the room attendant on the cruise was very creative! Very cute elephant, for sure. And Sue, those peas are huge! At first before reading your comment I thought they were green olives.

What a cute elephant, argus! bhs, I've come across quiz questions about harpy eagles on this site, but I don't think I've seen a picture till now. It looks fearsome. The "Dovecote" gift shop at Michelham Priory in Sussex is a careful twentieth-century restoration. I suspect that the pillory is a recent creation too.

I never realised "slippery dip" wasn't a world wide term also slippery slide too, though. Cubby house: can't think of another name for them - Kapuskasing, what would you call it?

Could a cubby house be a Wendy house? Just plain slide, not slippery slide.

Wow, great site but ours wasn't going to be anything quite as grand as some of those - when (if?!) we ever get around to it we were just going to do a few changes to a little shed that we already have at the side of the house or maybe have a half treehouse half cubby house kind of thing. Who knows, these kind of things can get a bit out of hand and he'll probably end up with a better play house than we have real house!
