spanishliz, Maggie looked like she was a beautiful Collie. I'm sure your sister and brother-in-law miss her terribly. Thanks for sharing. roos, great photos of the eclipse. I missed the whole thing. This is the lighthouse in Key West, Florida, that supposedly helped Ernest Hemingway find his way home each night after a night of drinking. His house was nearby.

Jar, Love the pic of the cat on your fabric stash. I'll have to get a shot of my dog sleeping with my stash.

Thanks ClaraSue, she was a real doll. This morning at 3 a.m., Winston needed to go out in the yard. I couldn't resist taking a photo of the sky. (It was too early for the eclipse in this part of the world, and I didn't know about it anyway!)

Thanks for the great eclipse photo DSR. We couldn't see it here as there was too much cloud cover. I was so disappointed!

Dave, I checked on line and find that building with the "X" in lights is the Renaissance Tower. I haven't a clue what it contains -- offices, offices, and more offices? It is 886', the second tallest building in Dallas. And for today, a hydrangea in a neighboring garden. Larger

Can I play even though I haven't yet posted any photos but my very first in the theme thread for the week? My digital camera is almost 10 years old and photo developing costs way too much, so I have a hard time coming up with a pic a day. BUT, last night we took our daughter to her first concert, and she was so cute, I wanted to share. This is Kit singing along to "I Love Rock 'n' Roll". The concert was a free show at the state fair by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Kit is singing "Me, yeah me".

Thanks, Jar, for looking that up. I hadn't heard in the entire time I've lived here what that building was named.

Nice pic, Kapuskasing. Hope all goes well for you. Liked the night shot of Dallas too, Dave. The East Villa, just off the sea front, was one of the early buildings of St Leonards.

Great to see you here, Loth! What a cutie your daughter is All the best, Kapuskasing, hope to see you back soon. Not a great picture but took it while driving. The Dad emu and three chicks. Emus can be so very graceful when they're just standing there or slowly walking around but they lose any sense of grace when they start to run.

Tabby, I realise that both sides of that building would probably be owned by dfferent people/companies ... but why aren't they made to paint the whole thing instead of just one side?

This one's especially for Satguru - a Perth bus exiting the city bus station (I took it from the balcony of the convention centre next door to the bus station).

A few photos of Germany to go yet. This old building is up for grabs. Close-up of the date.
