Inspired by Denni's picture of the chocolate cake (which looks delicious ), I decided to post a picture of the mint chocolate cake one of my friends made for my birthday last Sunday. The cake was so good! Well it still is, there's still some left.

I am running out of local scenery now, so going the way of many Flickr members and taking pictures of people they spot and hopefully not get chased for doing so. I just spotted this man and dog outside the Iceland shop in East Finchley High Road. Just a typical suburban London scene.



I've no idea what the dog saw, but it certainly got his attention!

Argus9, thanks for the compliment on the deer. Enjoyed the video--what a beautiful area! The vivid blue color of the water was spectacular and you weren't kidding about the picture not really showing how swift the current was. Nor were you kidding about the video capturing the sound of it--I about jumped out of my chair when the sound kicked in! (That'll teach me not to expect a babbling brook-type sound every time there's water involved!)

TabbyTom, thank you again and thanks for sharing such an interesting photo--I love seeing unusual homes! We once entertained the idea of converting a silo into a house and I wouldn't think twice about living in a lighthouse if I could (although I'm afraid I'd miss my mountains way too much for that!).

Denni, I am terribly, terribly sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the reason you have cake left is NOT because you all have been good little boys and girls: it's because YOU DIDN"T INVITE ME! That cake looks sinfully scrumptious! In fact, I think you should just pop what's left in a box and overnight it to me.

It has been too hot to be out and about with the camera, so I've gone back to the drive around the county last week for this one, which I hope shows up OK. It's a glider coming in to land, taken from a moving car. Tried to get one of another still under tow, but only got empty sky and treetops.

Wow! That's awesome. What a talent she has. Does she do any other type of drawings such as buildings or people because her animal drawings are phenomenal? Bored? I'm never bored with talented artwork of any kind.

We're back in St. Louis, Missouri today. Here's another shot I took this morning of the Gateway Arch. It's a little hazy out so it's not the best.

This is a shot of the canal near my home. We have miles of them around here. Birmingham has more canals than Venice! Unfortunately there are a lot of factories along this stretch but there are some lovely walking spots, too.

I know it's been said before but the photos in this thread are just exceptional! Honestly, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have a look in here daily . And I have to chime in with the rest, too, Au Naturel. Those drawings are breathtaking! Made me a little speechless to look at them (and that's not exactly a "typical" state for me to find myself in )! Lovely!

Now, I'll [literally?] throw my hat in ~ nyuk, nyuk. No great stuff, but I bought myself a b-day gift this year (I always do, just 10USD for something that isn't food or utilities). I always wear hats. Saves all the energy required to brush or comb hair, etc. . Not really. I just like 'em. So I bought myself a new cap online and it came today. Pitiful, isn't it, how thrilled I was to get it? *Sigh* But I thought I'd share, self-indulgent as it is...

Now we just need to see a self-portrait of you in the hat.
