The most obscure music from my list that I enjoy are:
Architecture in Helsinki Cat Power Arovane Casey Stratton Sleeping At Last Sacha Sacket
I wouldn't call Jason Mraz obscure at all. Not in Australia anyway. A few years ago, his first single "The Remedy" was played on the radio all the time! Same with Three Days Grace, I think they are most well known for their single "I Hate Everything", but I prefer a few of their other tracks.

Motorhead arent popular over here. Us Aussies must be really behind on our music or we are all biased and play the same crap all the time. it is a good thing for me, because, if i lived in the States i would just be one of the crowd, but here no-one knows the music i listen too.

I guess I would say that Anberlin is my favourite obscure band. I don't consider them obscure, but no one ever seems to know who I'm talking about when I mention them.
The Fully Down as well. They're still pretty unknown outside of Ottawa, even though they've toured the US and played on Warped Tour three years in a row. Check them out on Myspace.
oh,oh,oh!
I've heard of Anberlin. One of my friends absolutely loves them. I've heard a little bit of one of their songs as well and they sounds pretty good.

I've heard of Anberlin but I don't think I've ever listened to one of their songs that I'm aware of...maybe I have though.

Because, you know, MCR is complete Gold and ever so indie.
I have a fairly long list of bands I would consider obscure, but someone on these boards will undoubtedly have heard of them. On the top of the list would probably be Neutral Milk Hotel and The Mountain Goats.

The Weakerthans are John Sampson's band who used to be the bassist for Propagandhi...they sound a good deal different but they're still amazing in my book.

I really like them alot. Not as much as Propagandhi, though. Another band I really like is Smoke or Fire.

I've heard of Flyleaf but never really listened to them before. I know the lead singer is a tiny little girl but that's about all I know.

At the moment, I quite enjoy Protocol. Yet another good band to come out of Yorkshire. And really - where is the pleasure with you?

There are so many great bands out there, that never make it "big"...I get very worked up about music, it really tweaks me off when people don't expand what they know, and are afraid to venture outside the Genesis' and Michael Bolton's and Metallica's. Nothing against those guys...I like something from all of their music. There is something for everybody, I like something from pretty much every type of music, and finding new artists from every genre is fun to me. I just wish more people felt that way...the world might be a bit more colorful. Ok, off my soapbox.
Some of my faves that nobody knows:
Mudhoney Frightwig L7 The Blow Monkeys (these guys were a little more well known, but usually people look at me like I have three heads when I talk about them) Echo & The Bunnymen (Maybe well known, but DEFINITELY under-appreciated!)
